Ismahan,

I got some really good HAwiye friends out in your neck of the woods.

But back to the Sacad fellas, how many of them met your credentials: educational, career etc ?

Whats wrong with being proposed to ? They thought u were the "old school" Gelinsor Xalimo. Laughing

Laughing Laughing Laughing

See growing in US, lets just say I didn't understand marriage proposals that I'm the last person to know. Like one of them was from this reer Ayanle( thats what I was told) and he was educated. I come from work one day and my mom tells me how about the guy's pops came and talked to hooyo telling her his son is interested. See my mom already know my answer, but she still has to tell me. And my brother is sitting there laughing about the whole thing( I didn't think it was funny).
And there was the nice cute educated one, but he didn't want to talk before we get married. His talking was like for 2 weeks max. I don't get. I wish I was like the "ol' school" Galinsoor Xalimo, I would be very strong woman.

Look, I know my place and respect men. They need to do the same. I treat people like I want to be treated.

There is no winning with men. If your nice and sweet, they think you are easy. If you strong and confident, they simply run away. Laughing Laughing Laughing

So,I'm right. I mean offcourse, the ones that are considered the strong women, have their moments of "regular women" if you want to call it. But, there are the ones who are all the time miss gigglyand smily, and guys will go for that than the latter.

Ismahan,

Where do those pyschos live ? Shocked Something about MN. I went there last summer & my cousin was trying to introduce me to several Sacad women but my no. 1 question was, "is she educated ?" To which she often replied, "What do u need an educated woman for ? U looking for someone to mouth off @ ya ?"

Marriage so quickly Laughing

My only experience has been in the Qaldaan, Cadcad, & Darood departments. There was this nice Abgaal woman who is a friend of my mom's who once made me swear not to bring home a Darood wife. Laughing She tried to hook me up with Xawadle, Murusade, and Abgaal women from around the area but to no success. I have never met such a HAwiyist woman before.

I notice somali men and how they don't want someone who is educated cuz they fear she is going to mouth off at him. That is sad, but whateva. And women want to be married to educated men and depand on him, whereas, she don't want to be educated and have her own thing. I'm a women and i never understood that.

Abgal and hawiyenimo? To good to be true. Laughing

Ismahan,

She has some lovely Darood daughters & always shies away from introducing me to them. Years of being married to one has brought out the HAwiyenimo in her.

Frankly, I will not marry a woman who depended on me for everything. She has to be indepedent, educated, and able to go out there and provide for the family if I were to die or get injured or become unemployed for some reason.

An educated woman is preferable also due to other reasons: quality conversations about intellectual stuff, being able to take her to a company dinner & not worry if she will be able to carry on a conversation with your coworkers, a good example to your children about the importance of education & able to help them with their homework.
