I had the pleasure of meeting him (AUN) when I was a child. He was my awoowe and an inspiration.

My Grandpa told to me about him...he is an inspiration. I tried to get some more info on him but I had no luck. I really want to learn more about him. I know for sure he was a very handsome man...typical sacad!! (AUN). He was my father's (AUN) hero for sure. My dad talked about him all the time.

I have photos with him. He was a strong, patriotic, and honest man. He was also a close relative of mine and the closest Grandfather I ever had.


I remember being told that when he passed, Maxamed Siyaad Barre came to the tacsi to visit the family of the Marxuum when a Omar maxmuud woman walked by distraught & crying screaming, "Manta Madaxweyneha Somalia ba diintey !"

He was the only well respected and loved Somali. His funeral was attended by all Somalis of every qabiil.

I can only imagine. From what my father(AUN) told me, he was the true president of Somalia. He told me he was unfortunately robed of the 1st presidency and prime minister positions, when is this the only man who deserved it the most. I could not find any of his pictures anywhere, I'm thinking of someday inshallah writing a book about him. But I need to do some more reseach on him.

No sadly, I left for Xamar. I'm definatly going back the summer inshallah, I love that place. People wake up like sunrise and eat breakfast everyday...that was something to get used to. And I learn how to dance baranbuur lool, it was cool.

I remember the cream of the crop in Sacad growing up.

Who could forget Jamac Seed (AUN) the Sacad Cappo Qabiil ? Or Cali Shiido (AUN) ? Or Haji Octavio (AUN) ? Or General Carabey (AUN) ? Or Sharif Geesey ? Or Ali Kullane ? or General Aftooje (AUN) ? Ducale kahiye (AUN) ?

Those were the good days.

I'll never forget the days when the Sacad were so united in everything that we met & voted on everything and included our women in the decision making process. We listened to each point of view, debated and voted on the outcomes. After a decison was made, NO ONE dared to oppose it.

Our democratic values eroded after 1991, when we got hijacked by personalities & leaders who instead of listening & obeying beesha wanted us to work for them.

It violated our traditional democratic culture where men and women met and made decisions together.

Alas, we went from Governo Sacad to Ina Caydiid.

Our leadership declined over the years from being full of smart men who enjoyed lots of respect and prestige to clowns like Ina Caydiid, Caato, Xaaf etc.

UNOSOM killed our best odeey.

But I do remember meeting Qeybdiid out in Xamar in 1991. I remember how a vast number of USC esp. Sacad brothers admired him. He was the true hero of the USC military wing. He would go into hell for us if Sacad asked him to go there.

But who could forget his little trip to Galkacyo and Garowe in the greatest Karbaash ever dropped on the Majeerten that they still talk to this day about

Just cause of that, he is considered a hero among all those folks who died at the hands of the SSDF & Siyaad BArre regime in 1989.
