Ethiopia does have large muslim population but they are weak and lack strong organisation...i doubt they'll uprise against the brutal regime..as for the Oromo, they consider themselfs as 'Abyssinians' although Millions of Oromos were exterminated by carnage of war, millions were taken away and sold into slavery, and hundreds of thousands perished by war-induced famine under emperor Menelik II ,by the end of it all, half of the Oromo population--estimated at about 10 million during the late 19th century--was exterminated...in addition Emperor Haile-Selassie brutalized the oromo's and crushed they uprising.. the oromo's are poorly organised group and are divided, majority of them do not want to be independent from Xabash ethiopia..

horta you all made good points, they are emotionally and physically scarred by their previous attempt's considering this they have now all but forgotten to continue to resist, that flame within the person which desire's freedom is gone...muslim ethiopians have the numbers and the economic prowess to change ethiopia but their weak in nature probably why axmed gurey had to rely on the somalis for his conquest of abbysinia.
