Based on figures from the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, Jijiga has an estimated total population of 1,034,823, of whom 534,147 are men and 500,676 are women; 232,441 or 22.5% of its population are urban dwellers. Density figures for this zone are not available.

Jigjiga is bigger, but its not growing at the same pace as Garissa economic wise atleast.Jigjiga is a controlled city, your every move is detected and put under scrutiny specially for the Ogadeen or Absame folks.So naturally Garissa is the place to invest and live aswell, and since Ethiopia has warrants out for most of the diaspora whom they accuse of funding Jabhada, a small percentage have put there money in Jigjiga.Garissa and Nairobi have taken the lions share.

How big is the actual city of jigjiga, according to 2005 estimates they say it's 200,000 that can't be right can it?

No i am impressed by the infrastructure of garisa it looks so good yeah and i thought it was smaller, yeah make sure you take pictures and also video,, I want to visit that place once,
