"Frequent land disputes between the Majeerteen and the Ogadenis took place in the early part of this century. In one famous battle some 80 Harti were killed. The Ogadenis refer to the area of the battle as 'lafo harti' ('the bones of Harti')."
We burried something down south, but am pretty sure it wasnt buttons

battle took place over 80s ago , one of the soldiers on the OG side was my great grand dads brother Ali Kulac and it wasnt 80 Harti as they claim it, it was 367 Harti dead and 80 Harti captured actually, with 14 OG dead. and the majertein legged it letting the Dhulbhante do most of the fighting, Dhulos know how to fight well when the commander is an OG like the Sayedka. But MJ only knows how to fight with maskin Haweeye, historically with other tribes even with wersengali, they have buckled and always backed off, The name of the Place was suggested by Sultan Ahmed Magan's brother in law, Abdirahman Dheere. After Independence, the Harti wanted to change the name of the town to ''Lafaha Nimanka'' sadly, it was refused by Absame elders.
The war was lead by two things, OG anger of Harti fighting on the side of the british and italians in the Jubbaland war 0f 1909-22 and Harti accepting European domination so easily as they were becaming servenst, soldiers, clerks and most importantly; Translators and guides for the Europeans and secondly trying to muscle in Kismayo/jubbalanda after the war and this alarmed the Absames, think about, if it wasnt for this war, we would be owning JL with these guys today.,
Absames being men of honor and always adhearing to the words of God, Sultan Ahmed decided to settle those 80 captured in kismayo, some wanted them to be deskinned, as this is Harti custom for their defeated enemies, the great pious Sultan remaked '' leave them be, they are family somhow and puntland is too dry, can you blame them''. such generousity instilled in their hearts.
