I am doing a research on who Somalis think is the best Somali poet, So far Maxamad cadbulla xassan and Raage ugaas are on ogadens top list

Siicid qamax was doing poetry in the 1850s
same as raage ugaas

Dhoodaan is recent

Cali dhuux and ina cabdulla xassan and salaan carabay are from the same time

Soomaali inuu qabiil rogay, Xirsi Boqon oo kale yey isaaqu abwaan ku sheegi.
Xitaa Naagtii uu qabay baa iska aamusiisay oo tidhi, War inkaari kugu dhacdaye, caruurta hanaga toosin, Haddaadan sida Raage uhoorin karin.
