Update on the fighting in Jigjiga and Shinile.

Postby EEGA9 » Thu Sep 16, 2010 10:12 am

ONLF forces arrived safely in the mountains of Shinile. However an Ethiopian force from bases across Jigjiga, Dire Dawa and Harar launched an attack on the contingent who were still attempting to cross to there destination.Reports in Jigjiga suggest 3 ONLF Mujahids were captured due to very dire injuries. The fighting occured in a place called Biyo Kulul south of Ayecha and later erupted again at Arabi which is further south of Biyo kulul. The gallant forces defended there positions and from this description drove them back further south.Unfortunatley 8 ONLF soldiers have been confirmed martyred may allah have mercy on there souls. The dead from the Ethiopian side is mamoth, I mentioned earlier that Jigjiga and surrounding areas till Dire Dawa were under Curfew with the dead of the Ethiopians been ferried by choppers to hospitals across the region. The operation has largely been successful, ONLF regular forces have also launched a rescue mission to further pave the way for the new troops and it seems like the fighting is dying down with ONLF troops securing there safety and delivering decisive blows to the enemy forces.

There are still tensions but the news is good for our side so far.

Ciise villagers buried 26 Somali stooges yesterday and they say 46 Ethiopians are still lying on the battlefield.A Tigray General Tefere Gabre was killed aswell including his second in command who was actually Somali, his name not confirmed yet.Another 25 Somali stooges from the area where released by ONLF to villagers and returned to there families.Another 35 or so Ethiopians are been held by ONLF.Its unkown what they will do with them.

There is now 7 ONLF troopers captured, all were caught in isolation of there units.

I have to say Ciise have to be one greatest Geesiyiin among Somali. These guys have no fear of Ethiopians.

Ethiopia-Based Ogaden Rebel Group Denies Fighters Surrounded in Somalia
By William Davison -

(Bloomberg)-The Ogaden National Liberation Front, an ethnic-Somali rebel group that seeks self- determination in part of eastern Ethiopia, denied its fighters were surrounded by Somali provincial forces while heading toward Ethiopian territory.

Reports that the Ethiopia-based ONLF “redeployed troops” by sailing their fighters from Eritrea to the self-declared independent Somali province of Somaliland have “no element of truth and were unsubstantiated,” the group said today in an e- mailed statement. The rebels said they already had sufficient forces in the region and had “escalated” combat, killing 150 Ethiopian soldiers on Sept. 13 and 14 at Arabi and Shebelle.

The ONLF was responding to Sept. 14 reports from the Walta Information Center, an Ethiopian website that is favorable to the country’s government and is based in the capital, Addis Ababa. Walta said a group of 250 to 300 Ogaden rebels who trained in Eritrea were surrounded by troops from Somaliland.

The ONLF says it has been fighting for self-determination for the people of the Ogaden region for 16 years. The region is an arid zone that covers much of Ethiopia’s Somali Regional State and borders Somalia. Ethiopia considers the group a terrorist organization backed by neighboring Eritrea.

The ONLF fighters were trapped in the Maar-Maar Mountains in the Abdal region of Somaliland as they tried to enter Ethiopia at Abdoulqadir, the website cited Somaliland officials as saying.

Ethiopian officials at the Somali Regional State’s offices and the Communications Ministry didn’t respond to telephone and text messages requesting comment on today’s ONLF statement.

Fighting Continues!! ONLF Flagbearer Calanside Operation continues

Hawlgaladii Calanside ee CWXO ay ku qaadeen ciidamada gumaysiga iyo wixii dhidid dhowr ahaan ula socday ayay guulo waaweyn ka soo hoyiyeen naftood-hurayaashii gulufka qaaday. Aagii Shiniile ayaa shalay iyo maanta daganaa ka dib markii ciidamadii uu gumaysiga soo galiyay dagaalka laga dhigay hawlgab oo intoodii ka badbaaday ay dib ula soo noqdeen dhaawac farabadan.

Waxay shalay iyo maanta galinkii hore dagaalo xoogan ka dheceen inta u dhexeysa Baabili iyo Jigjiga halkaasoo wararka rasmiga ah ee ka imanaya goobaha dagaalka iyo dadweynihii aan kala xidhiidhay dagmooyinka ka agdhow goobahaa ay dagaaladu ka dheceen ay noo xaqiijiyeen in jab weyn oo aanay waligood ku talagalin ciidamada Wayaanaha uu ka soo gaaray dagaaladaas. Warbixinta hordhaca ah ee aan ka helnay qaybtii dagaaladaa qaaday ayay noogu sheegeen in bakhtiga Wayaanaha ay isdul taageen uu kla badaan 50meeyo, iyadoo la keenayo isbitaalada Jigjiga dhaawac xaddhaaf ah isla marahaantaana la joojiyay dadweynihii lagu daaweyn jiray isbitaalada iyo booqashadii bukaanka isbitaalada yaala.

Waxay kaloo noo sheegeen wariyayaasha la socda qaybaha ciidamada dagaalka ku jira in goob ay niman saraakiil ah fadhiyeen oy dagaalka ka hogaaminayeen lala beegsaday baasuuke halkaasoy in badan ku nafwaayeen saraakiishii gumaysiga ee dagaalada hogaaminaysay. Warar aan hubsan doono ayaana sheegaya inuu ku jiro sargaal sare oon dib ka soo sheegi doono magaciisa marka la soo xaqiijiyo.

Jidhacle oo ah Haarcad duleedkeeda ayuu dagaal xun iyadana ka dhacay shalay halkaasoo ciidan aan tiradooda naloo xaqiijin oo Wayaana ah iyo 3ex ka mid ah maamulkii Hawaarinta dagmada ay ku nafwaayeen.

Dadweyne badan oo wakaaladda kala soo xidhiidhay meela kala duwan oo dalka ka mid ah waxay u xiqiijiyeen in jabka soo gaaray ciidaamada gumaysiga uu yahay mid aan la qiyaasi karin. Sababta waxaa ugu wacan bay yidhaahdeen gumaysiga oo rumaystay beentii ay Cabdi Ilay iyo saraakiisha Wayaanaha ee ku naaxay baada laga qaado dadweynaha iyo canshuuraha la soo qaado ay ku maaweelin jireen mudadanba ee ahayd in ciidankii ONLF intiisii badnayd ay isa soo dhiibeen dalkana ay ku hadheen wax aan ka badnayn tobaneeyo.
Waxay dadweynaha aad ugu raaxaysteen jabka soo gaaray gumaysiga iyo kuwa u adeega ee aan lahayn awood iyo tabar dhaafsan inay soo xidhaan shacab aan waxba galabsan iyo haween ay fara-xumeeyaan.

Guusha Gobanimadoonkaa Leh Inshaa Alaah.

ONA.

 OX ill give you a round-up

Since EID the fighting has not stopped from Goday to Fiq to Jigjiga to Shinile to Dagaxbuur to Qoraxay and Wardheer, the major confrontations have been occuring in Jigjiga and Shiniile regions.

In the latest round, fighting occured around Baabile where atleast 50 Ethiopians were killed and many more wounded.Baabile is an area between Harar and Jigjiga, a group of leading Commanders were also killed after a bazooka hit them whilst in a meeting in another blow to there morale. There are many battles, small and large. The Xabashi army was told ONLF was defeated and had signed a peace agreement. Many of them did not prepare for what hit them. This is a message from ONLF that there very much alive and are threatning Meles more than ever.

ONLF will release there statements on the fighting which they have coined "Flagbearer".

I really should learn to read my own language quite embarrassing

Do ONLF operate in Liben, Afder regions. Are not these places more fertile and have rougher terrain for guerrilla warfare compared to other regions?

They are there but no there not the most strategic, the prize is Jigjiga,Fiiq,Harar,Shinile and DireDawa you secure these areas and Ethiopia is basically blocked out of entering the land. These areas are in between mountains that give access to the Ogaden, these areas are excellent for guerilla style warfare. If you take a bus or car ride from Addis ababa to jigjiga, your Imaan will double after surviving the treck through these mountains.

Araabi is Gadabursi Danbal is Gadabursi, eastern Ayshaca is partly Gadabursi. The Ciise live west of Danbal in shinile zone, they are the bravest somali fighters ever. We have 100's of stories recounting ciise bravery on the battlefield. Everyone fears them, the canfar, the oromo, the xabashis even their fellow somalis.

But kudos to the fighters mashallah
