This topic really got hijacked. Does anyone own a farm in this area? My family owns a farm in a place called Kamaatiireey not far away from Kismaayo. Does anyone know what the new TFG constitution says about land ownership in Somalia? What about commercial farms?

Yeah, my family owns farms in that area. I heard the name Mogaanboow Zunguuni since I was a kid, my mom still uses the phrase randomly. All of these settlements like Hargeysa Yare & Mogaanboow Zunguuni & Wirkooy are plantation settlements in Jamaame district. If you follow the Jubba river north or south of Jamaame you will find these settlements dotting the map, some are larger than Dhusomareeb, its easy to see how Jamaame has a population of over 130,000. The rivers in the south have the same effect as the roads in the north, they attract settlers and growth. If you pull up google maps you can follow the river north of Jamaame and find small makeshift docks and boats along the area, the river is also a mode of transport for many.

I don't know about the TFG's statement on land ownership, but Shabaab/ICU returned all pre-civil war properties, our farms are up and running since around 2006 or maybe 2008, at the moment we're only growing limes, which are way more laborious and take longer to grow than mangoes or bananas, and they bring in much larger revenues because they're so rare and few people put time in them. A lime tree takes 5 years to grow. My dad recently purchased generators for the farm, the limes should be ripe in 2-3 years.

He purchased his personal farm from a naive Marehan guy in the 80s, the guy thought the civil war was going to be permanent. What a steal. Some Habar Gidir dude offered my dad $1,000,000 a few months ago. He declined.

The Harti people in Waamo are very business minded. My dad told me about the first Somali dude to reach a Baajuun island deep into the Indian Ocean was a Wabeeneeye from Raas Kaanbooni. So here is how his business started; he realized that the Baajuuns needed milk from the locals OGs in the area, and locals needed the handcrafted tools the Baajuuns make, so he got a boat and established import/export business between Baajuuns deep in the sea and the Og locals.

And by the way I know Jees committed crimes as well as Morgan, but do you know how many well-known and respected Kismaayo natives the Ilka-yar mooryaanks killed during their occupation?

More respected Marexaans died by other Marexaans hands than any other clan.

my little cousins naughty behaviour of smoking lead to the family deporting him to afmadow and kismayo and moqdisho for acouple years and returned in 2007. he informs me that an Ilkayore just shot a haweeye dude point blank after some business disagreements in kismayo an they retaliated in return by shooting his brother. moryan killing moryan is nothing new and wouldnt be suprised if ilkayares and others killed for fun when they felt like it. after all there is no fear or incentive of punishment. but i also hear a lot of the intellectuals and ulama who stayed behind were one way or another harmed as they were easy targets.

yep. true. somalis are stupid. they never complain and tell the world when their own kill each other. many hartis wiped each other out. haweeyes obviously being the baboons they are wiped them self out almost to extingtion. even the idoors almost wiped them selfs out but were smart enough to trust their leadership to a shishaye like riyaale. mereahns dont want to admit their own skellitons in the closet, but so called sweet uncle barre hiraale killed numberous merehans and even kicked some back to gedo in conjucture with his haweeye masters who funded in his take over of kismayo. is it any wonder they MR elders cursed him and called his actions ''midgaan''. i can say with confidence, apart from the first couple years of the civil war, most somalis died from the hands of their own clans/tribes men then a shishaye.

Having a discussion about the depression among somalis means we all have it? :?

burhan...don't be simpleminded..Allah testes humans with everything....depression is a sickness, and I personally know people have been affected by it and I know what it does to them. The human mind is not something to belittle. You can say when a person's imaan is high depression will have no affect on them, but saying depression does not exist is simpleminded and idiotic.

Berke, apart from Lord Diplock, Dangirl, Hyper and I, I don't remember any other Og fella who contributed the lion's share to the topic of Depression Among Somalis. But you would realize most of Sade fellas were clueless about what they were attempting to convey and explicate.

Start unearthing your ignorance!

^I'm the other OG he's referring to.

Apparently just because we contributed to the discussion and shared its insights, we are all secretly living with mood disorders. Often times its the ones who deny the relevance of a condition be it mental health related or otherwise that are either suffering from it, thus the denial or lack any knowledge of its nature, thus the denial. Having said so, I better go and load up on my lithium doses before I start hurling myself from a bridge. I suggest you do the same Faranacab and be sure to immediately pm the others before they face a similar fate.
