Reports in Jigjiga says, Ethiopian Military Camps are on sell.

OTP- the Ethiopian Defense forces officials arrived at Jigjiga, The capital of Somali Ogaden Regional on last week, the delegation of the ministry of Defense led by the General Abreha Arafa Hayra met the officials of Jigjiga.

The reports says that both the officials discussed the agreements of selling Ethiopian Defense military camps in Ogaden Region, the move was surprised by the local people and yet not known what agenda behind the matter.

Ethiopia defense forces said, we are selling our military camps to the local administration and wants to move our troops far away from the towns, according to the officials in Jigjiga, but the resident in Jigjiga and Ogaden region do not trust the move.

Analyst believes that the Ethiopian military wants to settle new area but any place they open new military bases are belong the people, they fear the new displacement.

The regional administration wants to sell the land to the citizens but the citizens fear the ownership future of the land, the camps which Ethiopian Defense forces want to sell are located Jigjiga, Godey, Kebridahar, Dhagahbour, Wardher and Kebribayah.

These area are stronghold of Ogaden National Liberation Front, ONLF a rebel group who is fighting the independence of Ogaden Region in eastern Part of Ethiopia, the Ogaden region was handed over to Ethiopia in early 19th, century according to historians.

In these days Ethiopia land policy became one of the strongest debates in community both inside and outside the country , some critics says, The Ethiopian ruling party of EPRDF, led by The TPLF, one of the minority ethnics of Ethiopia are selling the land of Ethiopia over the foreign Companies.

No Idea what this story is about...but if there moving camp then its a bold move because the cowards are hiding behind civillians, thats why there bases along Jigjiga-Harar road are dismantled every month then they bring re-inforcements and erect a new camp.The nomadic population have taken a long break from Ethiopian troops after they were defeated in the 2007-09 offensive.
