Waving a flag is nothing, Ethiopia flag represents many nations such as oromo, anfar, somalis etc. But waving a gun for meles zenawi is worse. Beesha Sade of Somali Galbeed doesn't sell itself.

Ximan, your tribesmen in that region have fully accepted Ethiopian rule. If you had any rebels fighting amongst your people for what you call nationalism, their would have been arrests, death, upheaval, and mareexaan Liyuu police running around. This is the same with the Isaaq that live in S.galbeed....they are peaceful citizens.

Facaye are stuck beyond Diredewa, few poor Sadde's families live in refugee camps, and that's fact. But to ask them to fight against Melez's regime when they are socoto is injustice. Only if likes of Barre Hiraale could dream of getting Id card of any village in Ogaden, may be they would forget about Gedo and Garbaharey like Facayes of Mareexans had done a century ago!

Marexaan, Issaq, Dir, Hawiye in Galbeed don't fight the Gov. Most Ogadeens don't, yet a few do which causes repurcussions on the whole Ogadeen community. Reason why I never understood the logic of the armed faction of ONLF.Not like it would even make a difference the entire Ogadeen community, with their poor funding and inadequete arms wouldn't make a dent in Zenawi's regime. Qori doesn't solve anything sometimes using siyaasad is a lot more effective.

Meles' government is on life support from the Western nations, a civil war 'a la Somalia' could kick off at any time and when that happens we know who'll take over the Somali region.

I say ONLF is responsible for keeping Meles' troops in check and making sure that they always keep an eye over their shoulder as they travel the region.

Young men, when was the last time you went to Ogaden? Ever seen where Facaye live? The locals, not the refugees, are the back bone of the movement. It's fully armed and make huge operations on daily basis in Shiniile, Fiiq, Dhagahbur, Godey, Qorahay, and Wardheer. Some analysts say 85% of the land is under the control of the movement. The Woyane regime don't reside beyond Harar any more. They lost a lot. Melez has changes his tactics. He already realized that he could get use to Somali boys like Ximan who carry laba buraashadood and mijin jaad ah under the banner of Special Police. ONLF is not like a mad Sade militia or Ahlu subag Jabhad. It is a mature political organization and it won the election in 1992, after the transition. It ruled the whole Ogaden and made almost all institutions that exist today. It's leaders are from grass roots and made a lot differences. In almost all continents there are native ambassadors, representatives, organized communities and trustbale strong allies. Just a few decades ago the previous dictators in the horn bite the dust, I guess Mellez is next as he is not made of steal. Just remember we barely need to arm Somali refugees as long as the grass root movement is strong, and the struggle is alive.
