Two save the ONLF from going into obscurity, two key things must happen.

One is--the movements top leaders need to go inside the country and run things from inside
Two--the movement needs to begin operating inside towns

The reason for the first one is simple, when your entire top brass is outside the country, the commanders and junior level leaders can easily be bribed, and loose focus. Failure to have central leadership inside the region gives the perception that the leaders of the movement are not willing to die for the cause they are calling towards others.
Also, the fractious condition in which the current ONLF leadership is in has to do with this exact notion, that only poor peasants from the countryside are those who are dying on behalf of the ONLF, while leaders who are suppose to busy directing the movement from inside spend their time bickering and fadhi-ku-dirir in Europe.

Two, the lack of willingness to operate within towns leads your opponents to operate with impunity and punish your supporters. Today, every major city or population center is full of Liyuu police who arrest, torture, and kill at will. When you do not exist were majority of the people live, the people forget about your existence and your cause.

When you can't even protect those whom you rely on, you will continuously loose support and fade into obscurity. This is what has been happening since '07.

Actually half of what you said is a lie , you don't know anything of what is going on and what ONLF is doing in Ogaden, if you said that.
I've been there and seen it, i've seen ethiopians soldiers dead in qabri dahar and liyu bolis last year, i've heard gun sounds on the morning where everybody ran inside the house, and due to that im born in norway, i was scared as hell!, and both of them leaders and captains really goes down to Ogaden and stays with ONLF for a couple of months.
''fadhi-ku-dirir''? that really shows how much knowledge you have for ONLF. :-@

Talo, perhaps you need to log on Qorahayonline, for a few weeks. ONLF is safe, strong, and deep rooted movement. Since 1994 the Tigre with all their efforts tried to destroy the back bone of the movement but failed. Some of the top leaders died when they were fighting the enemy. They often visit and stay connected in and out. Perhaps you just need to pay attention more, and Qorahayonline could help you as it does helped me.

It seems you're interested in the movement, and you want to see a quick victory. You want to see every town to burn out. It's not a bad thinking. But the strategy they chose seems for a permanent victory. They are well known over the seas. They gained allies, and growing stronger. In the right time, Insha'Allah they will ring the permanent victory. So far, they survived more than the Dervish movement. That shows how determined they are!

I know about Qorahay online, and I standby what I have written. The ONLF movement is currently at its weakest point precisely because of deep rooted divisions in its top ranks, the refusal of Cusman to stand down, and large segments of the diaspora supporting Iley's administration after seeing no tangible gains made by the movement since its inception.

Farancab our brother tallo alle udaa is just concerened for his fellow men and women back home. Permanent solutions aren't usually acquired with ease so I am with you on that. We wil have to be patient and help keep the struggle moving. As the diasopora youth we need to come up with a plan. We need to make one big organization where the people from Australia, america, united kingdom, scandanevia and all other countries of the world can come together and help this noble cause.

The problem metamorphosis is, people continuously gloss over the reality that is facing ONLF. Their was a time when the dabaqhoodi feared to leave towns and would throw away their rifles before dispersing in the country side. Things have changed drastically the last five years, and its precisely because of the incompetence of the leaders of the ONLF, their inability to grasp what is befalling them. The numbers of the Liyuu police continue to rise and now they are in the thousands, with thousands others currently being trained.

What needs to happen ASAP, is someone convince the admiral to go back to his villages and meet with the elders to reassure them all is not lost. The Somali tribes will usually support whomever they think is winning and right now the atmosphere is one in which the ONLF play an almost a nonexistent role.
