Ogaden National Liberation Front to Western Somali Liberation front, non-ogaden somalis will never support you if they are dieing for Ogdenia why should they? and the only way you will be able to liberate Somali Galbeed is if all somalis supports you only if you change name and stop this ogaden tribalism.

ONLF is around Awash as we speak. They can cut that Awash bridge in any minute. Just few days back they were taking over Babille's army base. As you know harar is not far from Babille either. Ogadens can do the work in less than a day, and they have already did multiple times, but the western aid and backstabbing from fellow Somalis is doing the trick.

I don't hate Somalia but i hate the present one, seriously, destroying your country then blaming it for the 1977 war... Somalia is falling apart, look at Somaliland and Puntland, they got their own thing going while mogadishu is having the same condition as it was for 21 years ago, what would make you think we would change the name and join a backstabbing full of traitors? And for the last, Somalia had the 3rd largest army in the 1980's, it all broke up in the civil war, 1991.

I heard ONLF was created in 1984 but began armed struggle in 1994 against Meles Zenawi.

Keep the ogaden name the ogaden name is a historical name the region is not Somalia was never part of Somalia the inhabitants are Somalis but they were never ever part of Somalia the struggle can be won only if its done by the indigenous people of the region under the name of self determination being free from the Abyssinians.The mistake the former Somali politicians in the former Somali republic made they made it a disputed area, which was wrong the former Somali republic was seen as a aggressor invading another country.They should´ve just aided the rebels fighting against Ethiopia with logistics food arms and all of that , The region can only be liberated by the people of the Ogaden region. So i say keep the name its legitimate name for the cause.

If a mere name change could bring about recognition and respect for our people, we could not have traveled this long, hard and bitter road. Alas! We tried it in 1970s and learned from it. Today I am quite sure that every patriotic Ogaden citizen understands that Ogaden name stands for freedom, justice, glory, honor and dignity. And it will remain same as long as it says no to the injustice and oppression.
