The current Millennial generation has very little sway in the active Hargeisa arena. They are fed up with these archaic politicians because they have failed to create local sustainable employment in the triangle. This is why they make up the majority of the tahriib Somali market, many head to Mogadishu for opportunities.

It doesnt help that thousands of diasporas come marry women in their age bracket and flaunt their lavish lifestyle in hotels and villas. This drives even more tahriib, creating a vicious lifestyle of mortal consequences.

The youth in the south are very involved in today's parliament and majority were the main campaigners for Farmaajo, they were delughted with his win because he carries their voice.

If I were you I wouldn't badmouth those old men, your sanaag region could never be peaceful without those men, may be they are the are the reason you are alive today. Back then 4 major clans were fighting in sanaag and your your warsengelis were the weakest, you completely lost everything you had inside erigabo district .

Those old men you see in today's Somaliland politics are the only reason we survived those years. I don't mean that every one of them is important but I most of them contributed Somaliland nation building process positively . The middle age landers are actually leading Somaliland government while the the elders are given the power to keep an eye on them, check and balance. The youth handles every thing under ministerial duties.

Unlike other Somali States Somaliland old leaders are leaving great legacy for their young generations. Can you believe that most Somaliland old leaders published their own biography books, and the rest are in the process. Printing and publishing books on Somaliland history is big business in hargeisa, this does not exist in other Somali countries, for example in Somalia only Abdullahi yuusuf published his book out of all those who involved it's leadership during the last 30 years.

The youth in koonfur are clueless about their County's bloody history compare to the landers who knows their full history, that's why the average wanlaweyn young man does not know what's the difference between Somalia and Somali. All liberation leaders of Ogden and NFD left no documented legacy, same goes to Djibouti. If you don't know the hardships of your own ancestors you are more likely to be trapped in the same cycle.
