Tree planting going on in Cadaado district. Plans are to plant 5000 trees every year.

Trees are important in fighting droughts, as they attract water, provide cool shade from the heat and stop soil erosion.Deforestation restricted in the district but many dont have an alternative to charcoal.

Geed beerista degmada Cadaado. Geedka Dhir.

Funny guy in the video says hot sun beaming on their heads was giving them bidaar lol.

Even Abdirahman Abdishakur getting into the Adado tree planting scene. Tree planting politicians is the new PR stunt in the region

"Waxaan xaruntiisa degmada Cadaado ku booqday Axmad Sheekh Xasan (Jagejage) agaasimaha Mashruuca Maanta Geed Beer. Waxaan beeray geed. Axmad wuxuu ii sheegay tan iyo markii uu 10 sano ka hor dalka dib ugu soo laabtay uu deegaano kala duwan oo Galmudug ka tirsan ku beeray 15 kun oo geed. Waxaan bogaadiyey sida masuuliyada iyo dhabar adayga leh ee uu isaga xilsaaray daryeelka Bay’adda oo kaalin wayn kaga jirta nolasha oo idil. Waxaan ku dhiira gelinayaa guud ahaan dadka Soomaaliyeed, gaar ahaan reer Galmudug in Axmad garab lagu siiyo mashruucan baaxada leh. Waxaan kaloo booqday beerta ugu wayn Cadaado oo qare macaan badan ka soo cunay."

They're also planting Coconut trees.Good idea to plant trees that produce fruit. It will encourage residents to take care of it even more when they see the fruits of their labour!

Farming in Gawaan town in Hobyo district. :som:
The town has a high elevation off the ground so they use pumps. Mama Hadiya Nuur Cade has been able to plant lots of fruit trees all by hand there. She mentions guava, lemon, spondias(isbaandees), Atemoya(Canuuni), and orange trees. Something I haven't seen others do that she plants is Xawaash(cumin) commonly used in Somali rice. Mashallah

Beeraha Gawaan ku talo degmada Hobyo hoostagta Galmudug state. :som:
Mama Xadiya waxay ku bertaa seytuun, liin dhanaan, liin macaan, canuuni, isbandees, iyo xawaashka lagu daro bariiska iyo waxyaalo kala fara badhan. Mashallah.

Little fun fact about the Atemoya fruit/Canuuni eaten in Somalia.
The atemoya is a hybrid of two fruits – the sugar apple and the cherimoya. The fruit is popular in Asia, South and Central America, Cuba, the Mid-East, the Horn of Africa in particular Somalia

This isn't Jamaame or Afgooye, this is Gaalkacyo Roox farms of Mudug.

The story of a diaspora returnee making his living from farming. He studied agriculture in India and Norway and decided to take back his skills and knowledge back to the motherland Somalia. He dispels the myth that the land is unsuitable for farming when it actually is really conducive for farming. He plans to plant grass, turn it into hay and feed 500 goats in an enclosed place.

You can see them enjoying mangoes straight out of Gaalkacyo farms. Mashallah really nice video and the first guy in the video is a great speaker.

Daawo:- Dalxiis aad U Qurux badan Beeraha Roox Gobalka Mudug

Quality Fodder Farming for livestock being done in Adado Mudug. It's a good idea to store enough fodder/hay for the dry season.

Duleedka Cadaado beer lagu beero calafka xoolaha oo aad u nafaqo badan

Mohammed Yarrow spending time in various Galmudug Districts and learning a lot from the communities on existing local initiatives of hay production. You can sense the pastoralists’ frustration on the traditional open-field animal grazing system. Everyone agrees fodder farming is the alternative. :blessed:
