Sahal yes when family talks about the good old days of Muqdisho, 50s, 60s, 70s & 80s, the places, the events, the people the history!! Damn.

Correct if I'm wrong wasn't Cali Dhoof a Cali-Geri Ahmed Garaad Dhuloz mean the first elected mayor of mogadisho in 1960?
haven't heard of him but i heard the first post-independence mogadishu mayor was ajuran who moved to Kenya after. One of his daughters was in the national basketball team now is wadaadad and my family in kenya know her. The other daughter has become kenyas ambassador to switzerland or sweden

I heard case populaire-nowadays cayr populaire-used to be mainly nothern harti and isaaqs

Xamar somaliwayn baa dhistey it never had HAG mayor closest was cusman jeele from hiiraan

Dhulbahante as loyalists were rich and less religious under barre(state wealth)

Your people enjoyed man back then, ogadeen were generals

Listen to ustada maryan xaaji cilmi from hiiraan all the people she mentions r not native to xamar

https://youtu.be/8yJcIDzJhHY
will you please convince somalis to invest in their tuulo, that is why i suppor federalism, lets us not the same mistake again, build and modernize your city instead of investing in xamar.i personally will invest in my own tuulo.
 laakiin niyohow wax ma hambaysaan xamar unukaalehna waad ku haysaan wax walbana waad qaadateen! hospital sheikh zaid baa hada xamar laga dhisayaa...why not let gobolada take it?

There is a saying allow nin aanan wax ogayn ha cadaabin.

Casa populare was built by the ministry of maaliyada for the stuffs who worked banks and ministry of maaliyada. It's a government houses so no one owns it. Most of wadajir was also own by the government. During siyad bare yes daarood most lived casa populare and some part of wadajir that is because they worked for the wasaarada maaliyada which was dominated by daarood. and government houses where given. This wasn't thier own homes but a government houses. You also forget the huge government houses in hurwaa and Kaaraan, Xamar jabab and so on, those areas where government homes where mix of all clans and most notable Hawiye who worked for the Government and of course dimocrafics have changed because those houses are public government houses.
Most non governor workers of hawiye lived hawlwadaag wardhiigley yaaqshiid and most of hoden, around siigaale area.

True Baar Xaashi etc Afaar Irdood, etc it wasn't only because of Siyaad, but Sahal we had Dhuloz families who lived there for Decades who had their own money, but then Xamar was everything for Somalis, if h wanted education, health care, passport, business etc u had to be in Xamar a lot of Dhuloz found themselves, my family paid for the eduction, health care and living of many of my clans men, who made something out of themselves.

Sahal who was Maryam married too?

Guys we are talking about privately owned homes, not government property.

habar jeclo. In 1982 when the regime started depending on certain qabiil, some members of kacaan have made big mistake as they met for correction and to advise siyad barre, cumar masale a mx was among them so he forgot them in prison..advising a dictator? she says she became religious after she lost her upper class status in 1982! Good for her!

I must admit for 15 years atleast, the MODs had it really good! I kinda feel nostalgic eventhou I dont remember much. When people talk about their days in Mogadishu, it really kinda feels sad.
