Really, who is gonna listen to them, they made themselves weak. They are the problem. We know what they are, ma nimaanka Garowe iyo Lascanood ba taga oo laa shira both mamuls?

There is no option for Dhulbahante but to take the Honor of Minor Garaadnimo from these thugs...

God bless the 1 and True Supreme Garaad.

This is the modern Dhulbahante problem. Who should legitimately lead the people, the traditional elders or modern politicians. The answer seems obvious, from a modern point of view. Until that problem is settled with finality, these kinds of scenarios will be recurring.

They must work hand in hand.

Khaatumo features three administrative branches. The political wing is made up of the G6, executive and parliament; and the traditional branch is led by the various isimo.

The political branch was initially mandated to secure Dhulos self governance and establish a functioning administration in the current Somali political landscape.

The traditional branch was mandated to disarm the Dhulos sub-clans and help forge a united security force for Khaatumo; in a bid to secure a lasting peace among SSC clans and its neighbours (if feasible).

The recent Dharkayn-geeyo and Taleex intra-Dhulos conflicts serve as stark reminders; Dhulos sub-clans used their technicals and light arms to decimate one another. If the traditional elders were able to direct their respective sub-clans to hand over their arms to Khaatumo we would not have suffered heavy casualties nor would we need Somaliland forces to intervene in our disputes, we could have been self-sufficient and in charge of our own security...

IMO the traditional branch have failed miserably (in terms of fulfilling the terms of their mandate), and should not attempt to exert influence within the political domain.

They are completely out of line...

Treasonous elements within our ranks do not need to be named and shamed, they lets themselves be known by their own doing, the writing is on the wall.

I just wish they would have taken a different position.

Prince and Kyrie

The idea of dethroning the minor garaad is good but as you and I know, thus is the prerogative of the sub clans themselves, and I have not see any of them being dethroned by their people. It's also not feasible to transfer this role to the council of elders. But the council of elders should have the moral authority to sanction a wayward minor garaad, and to put pressure on his people to dethrone him if he persists in his transgressions. However, the council has failed to do this, it has even failed to mediate in intra clan conflicts as kyrie has pointed out.

The sad reality is that traditional forms of leadership, not only among the Dhulbahante, but all other Somalis, has been corrupted beyond redemption. Whoever pays the piper calls the tune. The difference with the Dhulbahante is the enormous respect and prestige accorded to these elders, a historical legacy, despite the fact that these are not the garaads of old. And because they are respected and listened to, they have moved into the gap created by the missing Dhulbahante elite, who are whiling away their time in Starbucks and Tim Hortons, unwilling to commit themselves to their people's struggle. That's why an elderly Professor , who really should be the head of the Guurti, is left to lead the struggle. Everybody else has taken a back seat.

Everybody else except the minor garaads. They are having a field day. And they are up for grabs.

How many prominent Dhulbahante politicians of the age Gaas or Galmudug ' s Guuleed do you know who are active in Khaatumo, and should be Khaatumo presidents by now. Very few I suppose. Even the few who started out in SSC have not grown within Khaatumo and have drifted away or gone to the neighbouring maamuls.

Unless this balance changes in favour of the politicians, especially the younger ones, I'm afraid the problem may persist for a while longer.

These Reer Badiye Minor Garaads squabbles and grab of political power has led the Dhulbahante nation into disarray, it's time we think of, As Member of Beesha Omar- Wacays we apologise for the Danaayste Cabdisalaan Xassan Maxamed we know he is back at his house in Laascasnood and Visits Garowe, he is disliked and already was challenged, steps will soon be taken.

To Beesha Dhulbahante it's night time we get rid of all of them, Garaad Guud should be the only one, their roles should be taken over by the Cheif Caaqils..Dooqoni ma bars to ninka uroon... When will we wake up?

Our Politicians have the final say, they were elected by the people and the Garaad should bless the will of the people.

We need a system to regulate these traditional leaders and hold them accountable. It's not right a garad can act as he wishes and not face consequences. Their actions and ever changing political loyalties is affecting the unity of reerka.

I agree with PNH there should be one supreme Dhulbahante Garad and the rest should be demoted to Chief Caqils, whom are answerable to the Garad and a council of chief Caqils. There responsibility should also be defined and their remit should be limited to peace-making and clan affairs. Therefore, they should keep away from political matters or face prosecution.
