Africans generally have much less Neanderthal DNA than Europeans, Africans are more pure Homo Sapiens, Europeans are crossbreeds with Neanderthals and Denisovans.
Originally the speculation was that it was very small, 1 to 2 percent, but more recent studies of Europeans it's more like 10-20% or more, so it's pretty clear what happened to the Neanderthals, they never died out, we are the Neanderthals.
Some European guys are as much as 35% Neanderthal lol
