They've already surrendered. The Japanese didn't continue to fight after the war, the allies had cut the communication off to the japanese in the Pacific ocean they had no clue Japan had surrendered, but they got the message rather quickly from allied forces. Other then that there was literally just 1 person who waited until 1974 to surrender, you can Google it. Some crazy Jap in the jungle, guy wasn't a threat at all.
