On Apr 3 2011 - OLA special force operating in Chiro town, the capital of West Hararge zone, attacked a group of Police killing 6 along with their Captain named Ermias Demissie, an ethnic Tigrayan. Just before the attack occurred, the police were seen rounding up civilians and taking them to prison where they would likely face interrogation and torture. In other news the regime has stepped up its campaign of mass arrests and detentions across the regional state, mentioned in Human Rights Watch press release on Apr 6 2011. To deflect attention away from domestic issues Meles has recently made statements trying to make it seem like Ethiopia is under attack by Eritrea.
