In 1988 a group of somalilanders relocated to a north west london estate. little did they know the devasting results this move would have on the Somali community, the affect was like dominos spreading like wild fire.
It took just over a year for the take over to occur, gaining a strong hold over the "bidddas" this meant all drug dealing was monitored and controlled by the Young Somaliland Lions (YSL) in return making "mad" money. By the mid 90's YSL soldiers as young as 9, pariticipated in and popularised criminal activities such as lush n tek (stealing hand bags, wallets, jewellery and phones), ducking n diving into yards (burglary), and TDA ( joy riding in balla cars). News travelled fast amoung gangsta wannabes from all over greater london, and only a few from hundreds sucessfully graduated from Chalkhill school of hard knocks. Members wanting entry into YSL were made to take several tests, including getting rushed by 30 gang members with weapons. Then striaght after going out there and proving that they are gangtsa certified. All members are well known across the whole of London, therefore members cannot be named for security reason e.g bouy dem (police).
Chalkhill Estate where there ain't no fakes, was the first estate to be locked down by young somaliland lions (YSL).
