Only the top tier school would require 3+ years of work experience. The lower tier programs are not that strict on their criteria.
However, I would recommend you got the work experience first so as to get the most out of your MBA. In all graduate programs, work experience is valued especially in classroom discussions and you also begin value the program more because it helps provide insight that you did not have prior to grad school. Not to mention most employers will be shy to hire a MBA student with ZERO years of work experience.
