The Importance of Seeking Knowledge

Postby ENDURE4ALLAH » Mon Jun 18, 2007 11:25 am

Question:

Some of the British brothers asked: 'When we came here it became clear to us that our brothers in Britain are negligent in seeking knowledge so what is your advice to them?'
Answer:

That which I advise them with, is that they invite our brothers from amongst the students of knowledge and they gather in the sittings with them, as the Lord of Might and Honour says in

"Shall he then who knows that what has been revealed unto you (O Muhammad) from your Lord is the truth be like him who is blind? But it is only the men of understanding that pay heed. [Soorah Ra'd 13:19]

Since Allaah the One free from all imperfections and Most High has given excellence to the trained hunting dog over the untrained one and gave it allowance [with the regards to the food it catches] and He did not give allowance to other than it [the untrained dog]:

They ask you (O Muhammad) what is lawful for them (as food ). Say: "Lawful unto you are At-Tayyibât [all kind of Halâl (lawful good) foods which Allâh has made lawful (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables and fruits, etc.)]. And those beasts and birds of prey which you have trained as hounds, training and teaching them (to catch) in the manner as directed to you by Allâh; so eat of what they catch for you, but pronounce the Name of Allâh over it, and fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Swift in reckoning." [Soorah Al-Ma'idah 5:4]

So seeking knowledge is a necessity. We ask Allaah the Al-Mighty that He grant us and yourselves success to that which He loves and is pleased with.

And all praise is due to Allaah the Lord of all that exists.
