Subxanallah, hoorta i've been told(no solid sources were provided) that when you commit a sin, you are allowed up to 6 hrs to make sincere repentance before the angel on your left shoulder actually rights it down, it that true?

allahu alaam akhi abou the 6 hour thing. all i know is the two angels kiramaan and katibeen who record your actions, wether good or bad. inshallah someone else on this forum , can maybe clarify the 6 hour thing.

About the repentance, according to some Scholars it is 6 hours, others say 3hours. It is better to do it as soon as possible. The reason for this is, Allah the all-merciful, the all forgiving will not shut you out if you repent, so to ask forgiveness (sincerely) & promise to never to it again is sufficent insha Allah. Some scholars say 3 hours because by then the angels have wrote it down, and they are in dispute when you do a sign whether to write it down or not. Apparently the angel on the right does not allow the angel on the left to write down the sin for this time period (3 or 6) all because of Allah's mercy!! He is waiting for you to repent.. to seek forgiveness! And if you do, InshaAllah it is like you never commited that sin.
