I'm 22 years old. Born in the United Kingdom, one of the very few generations of Somalia families who came to the United Kingdom to work in the 60s and not emigrated because of a civil war. I used to attend primary and reveal my background and people would question as to where it's location is; but nowadays it's so common and become affliated with all the wrong aspects of what a hard working nation should be, can I blame them? No i can't. All i ever for the majority is see society of people on handouts. Why is it the Somali population within the UK so useless? whhy is the consenus on those that work so low? a official Govt consenus produced released juswt embarassly showed how pathetic we are within this nation, we dont offer nothing back. we're now in our "second generation" of being in this capital yet the graduation level/ work level is at a all time low. I just do not understand why the hell are somalians so lazy. And the youth of today is among the worst. I'm sad to say but i'm sick and tired of this. I came from a excellant background a good working family who have never been on benefits and never asked but always gave. why cant this mentality be adopted onto other families? i'm not saying all but the MAJORITY. I'm sick and tired of going through southall just to see our "own people" degrade themselves by acting like complete losers. do some work and dont strive to become such second rate citizens I'm sure Somalians are capable of more but I fail to see and so does every other race in this nation. it's a sad, embarassing and pathetic state we have gotten ourselves into and instead of looking to others to get us out we should have enough common sense to get ourselves out.
My simple motto has always been - do work and prevail. I've stuck by this and managed a Degree with Masters at a established University in Accountancy.
oh and Eid Mubarak. I celebrate by studying and reading to progress my knowledge of either religon or my profession. Not to be out in the streets becoming a nuisance.
