A Fear of Mine : Somalis will become Arabized like Sudan

These false lineages to Arabs were constructed to get people to convert to Islam. This idea that we're related to the prophets makes us feel as if we're authentic muslims. We Somalis need to be more nationalists and not allow these Arab cultures to take over our language, dress and interactions. I am a nationalistic Somali muslim that will not allow Arab traditions to take over mine.

We are related to a prophet, prophet Adam. And all humans are related in some way [Since we all came from Adam and Hawa]. Forget arabs their to busy intermarrying with others *They might die out soon, like we might die out* *Heck we might just drop dead right NOW*. Just worry about yourself.

Sister snow flakes i share your concerns..being Muslim doesnt mean becoming Arab..petrol Islam is destroying Somalia and Somalis everywhere..we dont have to dress in black from head to toe or wear white flowing robes..or abandon our traditional musicand dance because people say its 'haraam' its not..We dont have to segregate ourselves like the Arabs do..Islam didnt come to destroy cultures..but then its been corrupted to the point that if Prophet Muhammed peace be upon him came back he would be horrified im sure.

Uhhm Nationalism Is A VERY Big Sin In Islam

Nationalism is a concept alien to Islam because it calls for unity based on
family and tribalistic ties, whereas Islam binds people together on the
`Aqeedah, that is belief in Allah (swt) and His Messenger (saaw). Islam
calls for the ideological bond.

Grouping the Muslims on tribalistic lines is clearly forbidden. It is
narrated by Abu Da'wud that the Messenger of Allah (saaw) said,

"He is not one us who calls for `Asabiyyah, (nationalism/tribalism) or who
fights for `Asabiyyah or who dies for `Asabiyyah."

And in another Hadith, the Messenger of Allah (saaw) referring to
nationalism, racism, and patriotism said:

"Leave it, it is rotten." [Muslim and Bukhari] and in the Hadith recorded in
Mishkat al-Masabith, the Messenger of Allah (saaw) said,

"He who calls for `Asabiyyah is as if he bit his father's genitals"
