walanweyne = barbaric southerners :mrgreen:

Salam

You say that with a Smile, but I'm a Southerner :somalia: and never been called a Barbarian....

On another point have you ever heard of Conan the Barbarian...it was a novel turned into a Film. I've read both the book and vaguely remember the film.

Some female like the barbarian! There's a masculinity, and braveness that the barbarian always oozes...if I may say so; the concept of a barbarian doesn't sound bad.

In

First of Somaliland has been seeking recognition for how long now????....16/17 years,,,,

It's not like independence is knocking on its door and Somaliland is keeping secession at bay for the sake of Somalia...

Secondly there is no question of they and us.....Situation in Koonfur affects all of Somalia including Waqooyi..in economical, political and social terms....

Thirdly as someone else had already mentioned...THey are more than 4 foreign nations affecting the politics of Somalia...Somali is being tugged and looted from all sides...Somaliland is not free from these foreign forces......

Somalia is in a situation where all Somalis need to unite if we are ever to have a country again..Lets be honest here There's no such thing as Somaliland...and Somalia is fast deteriorating and being erased from history,,,,

My only fear is that 400 years from now people will say waxaa jirijiray wadan la oran jiray Somalia....

The problem I have with somaliwayn is that the south has been at war for almost 20 years. Somaliwayn is a dream. The reality is that unless Mogadishu gets it together, gets peace and prosperity than we can discuss somliwayn. For now, somaliwayn is step #1000. Step #1 of achieving peace hasn't existed for a long long time. I hope all Somalis can get together but for now and for the next 20 years, Somaliland should be seperate from Southern Somalia until it proves itself to be trusted.

We're all Somalis and we want the best for eachother. However, its hard to heal old wounds. Imagine being bombed b/c of your qabil. It still hurts. People lost their family members and had their houses bombed. What is needed is an apology from the Somali government for those atrocities.

S_lander-boy wrote:In_For_Wisdo your vision for a greater Somalia is bright and prosperous thats a good idea if all Somalis shared your vision greater Somalia would have been a powerhouse in Africa unfortunatly the average Somali in Somalia/Land propably shares a vison of that their Clan takes the power in the country Somalis need to destroy qabilyaad if we want progress and unity.

Agreed. Qabil shouldn't exist and should be thrown away. I support any Somali who wants progress and peace. However, for now, only Somaliland has any direction and vision for the future which is why I support it 100%. Somaliland is a country for all Somalis with different clans living together. It is NOT a qabil state, contrary to popular opinion.

Somalis need to back up leaders who want the best for the future. Stop with this primitive, " oh Abdullahi Yusuf is MJ and I'm MJ so, I have to follow his words". It should be, "Abdullahi Yusuf is a horrible warlord that needs to be arrested and I don't care what he is, he is no good ".

Please, Somalis, support Somaliland. Vacation to Somaliland, have businesses in Somaliland. It is a nation for us all. Remember that. If you're a person who has never seen his country, come to Somaliland, its you're country too. Everyone is welcome.

The same can be said about Puntland so, since u support any Somali who wants progress and peace, would u agree with Sland and Puntland uniting? Most pro-Sland Isaaq's are against any sort of relation with any region of Somalia, aside from diplomatic...according to what u wrote tho, u shouldn't have a problem.

Mr. Yungnfresh, puntland there leader Abdillahi yusuf is a warmonger and a primitive backward evil man who is only interested in power and money if he wanted peace stability progress for Somalia and the people he would have negiogate with the UIC and made a public statement saying let the people decided if they want a sharia law or "democracy" FREE ELECTIONS but instead he committed the highest treachery and got our biggest foes to ride with him the Ethiopians a lot of Somalis died and surely they have the upper hand but failed cause the mujaahadiin are still alive and kick in it , this man is a war criminal and Somaliland does not want to associate with the likes of him puntland=Abdillahi yusuf

If Somaliland doesn't get reconized within 50 years and Somalia gets there act together and destroy qabilyaad a unification is not ruled out and inshallah discussions of reconcilliation can take place.... in the meantime we are just neighbours.

An Apology from who...??...The somali government???...There is no such thing as a Somali government...Don't blind your eyes from what they can clearly see,,,Who is it that you really hold responsible for the bombing of Waqooyi? Lets address this......The government of the time or all the Southerners???????...How can you expect an apology from a government that no longer exists..The president and many of its ministers are dead, senile old men or Somali warmongers.

The Leader of "Somaliland" (MR Riyaale Kahiin) was part of the Barre regime who commited the astrocities in the Waqooyi...Don't let that little bittey fact escape you....

Somaliweyn was a fact for centuries.........before colonisation after colonisation and it will be again after the Ethiopian occupation......many countries have endured longer wars than Somalia.....

Somalia has gone past the stage were it was just somalis killing somalia...Somalia is ocupied and as such ALL somalis need to unite and resist the occupation....

What I don't understand is how anyone can nonchalanty distance themselves from the crisis in Mogadisho....

"Unless you..the south"...People get it through skulls....Wax la yiraado majiirto...YOu and they...It's only Us....

Lander Boy...."We are just Neighbours".....Really Waqooyi iyo Koonfur are like Somalia and Kenya...Just neighbours....nothing more....???????????????....

We are not neighbours....Never have been never will..........They sooner you recognise that the better....Waqooyi hasn't got recognition, it's very much part of the Somali territories.....
