$i$ i feel u walaahi i do..

Its stories like these that bring a smile to my face walaahi. Reading ur story made my heart ache, because its soo badly what i wanna do. I guess i'm still at the stage where u were back then, yearning for my hijjab, wanting so badly to wear it, but at the same time terrified of becoming a hypocrite. I do wear the hijjab alhamduliah laakin its not complete. The hijjab should cover the entire body from head to toe and flow free. Its strange, but walaahi, sometimes i feel like i wanna wear the jilbaab, just let go of the dunya and become just like that beautiful sista wearing black i see everyday. To stand out, become a swan among ducks and shine with the deen of islam. And other times, i want to get the latest combat trousers and wear the latest fashions, to don the latest look and lead.

Sis..i'm so glad u prayers were answered for you, allah chose u and made it easy for you.

May allah guide me and the rest of my sistaz who want to change inshallah!!

MashaAllah to the sisters that shared there stories...inshaAllah we shall learn something from each other...ok here goes my labo shilin

When I was applying to uni, I'd applied to places as far away from London as possible...but it did not occur to me that I'd be living away from home until we got to my new house...and the family drove away. I had always taken for granted being surrounded by ppl that not only looked like me, but also shared the same language, religion and culture as me. I never knew I'd find it so fraustrating having to speak in english 24/7 and for the first 3 mts I'd always go home every weekend, and when I was at uni....I'd feel SO alone. But living alone made me establish regular prayer alhamdullilah, because now if I strayed, there was no hooyo to remind me and I realised that I had only Allah swt. One night after praying maghrib it suddenly became clear to me...that I was not only Somali....but I was part of something greater than my Somalinimo...that first and foremost I was a muslimah....but by looking at me, ppl couldnt tell So the next day I wore a hijaab outside...and as you can imagine...felt very awkward and uneasy...but i had walked a few feet before this brother walked past me and gave me a dazzling smile saying "Asalaama Alaikum sister"...from that day on...I no longer felt alone.

Mashalla Sunshine walalhi your almost there sister i can just picture myself in your shoes. However you can still be in the trendiest clothes be ''hip and it'' while dressing in a modest manner.

yasmin507 walal keep Allah swt in your every thoughts you will do just fine. Also bare in mine tomorrow belongs to those who works for it today. Wink
What kept me going is that for those challenging parts of life theres a great reward!! ..and by the looks of it i dont think we have much time at all.

Democratic same here walahi its the little things like people saying s/c to you that makes you so proud to be a muslimad and dress accordingly.

Now and then i get tempted to do my hair and wear my booty hugging jeans and bounce but thats only for a split second.

So my dear sisters in islam may Allah swt guide us thoroughly through this and make it easier for us and our fellow muslimeen.
