Fighter,

The Heat will win it this year guaranteed. Not because of spice, but cuz of Wade, Bron and their impressive rookie Cole who was just what the heat needed in the draft. On top of that You got Bosh, a quality big coming off the bench is Haslem along with Mike Miller You have a serious squad. Plus the way Lebron is playing is just silly. The fight is who gets to be 2nd.
You nailed it and you are on point. We should bring this topic back to life during playoffs and finals time so we can see who was right, who was wrong and see if anyone was able to point out any suprises that might have occured. Or better yet, try to make it a sticky. The next few months will be very very interesting

Fighter,

Agreed, defninitely. My Knicks will be alright though especially once B Diddy comes back.

Ahmed Boqor,

Right now We simply suck thats the bottom line.

Youngfresh,

This Guy Dantoni is just a stubborn mofo. He is on a mission to prove He can win His way, and finally on the last year of His contract He FINALLY hires a defensive assistant but its too little too late. NO matter how much he talks about defense now it doesn't matter, its not in his blood to coach defense. He doesn't hold people accountable and take them out of the game when they are getting lit up. Also, His retarded offensive system is all about undiciplined jacking up of 3's which lead to long rebounds and transition scores for other team. Whats needed is less jacking up of '3s, work the ball to amare/carmelo inside, and quit running up the court so fast and save some energy for defense. For a frontline like that they should be feasting in the paint, playing a slower pace. We don't have the guard play to run up and down like that and compete. I'm telling You this Guy is a one dimensional coach. Give Him one of the best pg's of all time in nash, and the ultimate finisher in amare he'll do great. Give Him anything else, and he's lost.

Murax sxb you are being too harsh on Mike D. After a certain point there has to be some accountability on the players individually. Amare was atrocious last night and that wasn't team D problem as much as it was an individual one. No effort getting through screens or closing out on shooters. How many times did he get caught flatfooted? Sh1t was embarassing and after a certain point as an all star you have to put your foot down and step it up, and he didnt do that all yesterday. Just cringeworthy performance. He was getting taken off the dribble by a Boris Diaw who resembles this guy: Image

Also defense has been Mike Woodson's responsibility this year. The guy is supposed to have full control over the team's D so he has to bear some responsibility as well. D'Antoni is a good coach who gets a bad wrap IMO. I want him to get a full year with a full roster and see where it goes from there. I will reserve judgement till Baron is back. Funny thing is the D hasn't been THAT bad till last night, the problem was the offense couldn't get it together. Last night the offense looked better but they couldn't stop a thing. Hopefully they will get it together with time. Lets not forget plenty of good teams have had bad starts. Heat last year for one. Shumpert is a very exciting prospect and Mike D said he could start Friday. That would be a great call.

Tomorrow's gonna be the barometer for how good this New York team is (or more how bad it actually is)...if they can't beat the Washington Wizards, the league's only winless team, it's officially a wrap and even BD can't save them.

Big ups to Iman Shumpert...the kid is a soldier, he beat a 2-4 week timeframe for his return and stuffed the stat sheet at that...he was the sole bright spot in an otherwise atrocious game for the Knicks and I hope D'Antoni gives him minutes to show he can produce.

D'Antoni said he is probably starting tommorrow. The kid has a fearlessness in his game that is very exciting. Loved how he tried to jam on Biyombo. Tommorrow is defintely a must win. If they lose all hell will break loose when they come back to MSG and Dolan might just panic and fire D'Antoni. Once the "Fire D'Antoni" chants start they will never stop. That's how NY fans and MSG works. Happened with Chaney, Layden, Brown, Zeke.

I know, him and Norris Cole play like seasoned veterans and are never scared...you noticed how he was the only one who got cheers from the crowd at MSG when the rest of the team got booed? I agree tho, tomorrow is a MUST must-win...even if they do tho, they need a defensive-minded coach to reach their full potential. D'antoni is an exciting coach, but not a winning one.

They have the perfect personnel for a zone offense...give Spoelstra a few practices implementing it and this talk will die down like the "Wade and LeBron can't play off the ball" talk did...which they couldn't do until they did.

That's not why they couldn't beat Dallas...did you know Dallas had the #1 offensive efficiency in the entire postseason last year? They flat-out shot lights out and Dirk had an all-time-great type series/playoffs. Indiana went zone in spurts yesterday and still got demolished. Tyson Chandler keeping Lebron and D-Wade out of the post had more to do with it than the zone, although I do admit the zone frustrated them cuz it gave them a different look they weren't used to. It's easy to beat a zone, it just sneaks up on you if you're not used to playing against it. Besides, Lebron, D-Wade and Bosh all are all Olympians and a zone defense is ALL they play against internationally.

And the East goes through Washington, right?

Just watch, the zone only works until you play zone-busting offense with slashers and a shooter down the middle...the Heat are gonna see a healthy dose of that the next couple games, but I'll bump this thread in two weeks with ESPN and NBA.com articles about how the Hear finally figured the zone out and it's useless against them.

Freakin Hawks. They've been playing solid this year.....get on national TV against a Bronless and Wadeless Heat and play terrible.

Bosh is the best player on the floor right now and is leading the game in points/rebounds and blocks on either team...there's something to be said for that.
