Actually, it is true that the Prophet (SCW) instructed the Muslims never to attack Abyssinia unless it wages war against the Muslims. The reason was that Abyssinia has provided shelter and peace for the companions . I can briefly remember the hadith but the reference is lost on me.

yes it's true. and who ever attacks habashis gets cursed. some say this is the reason somalia become like this. we have attacked abysinia in 1977 war, beat them, yet we never won anything, and ever since then our country has being in ruins. and why do you think they were never colonised by the europeans, everytime they tried they were beaten by the habashis, thats why they're called the lions of africa.
