Six Degrees of Separation: Fact or Fiction?

Postby Demure » Tue Dec 26, 2006 11:59 pm

By THOMAS BERMAN

Dec. 12, 2006 — Most people have heard of the "six degrees of separation" theory — the idea that everyone in the world is separated from everyone else by six links.

But is the notion just a pop culture myth or a fact of life?

"Primetime" resolved to find out by conducting a groundbreaking social experiment. With the help of Columbia University professor Duncan Watts, "Primetime" created a test that pitted real people against each other in a race to see who could connect themselves to a random third individual the fastest, and do it in an unusual way.

I saw this on ABC the other night and it got me thinking if we try that in Somnet, it's likely it's 1 or 2 degree's of separation and that we probably all know each other or know of each other.

Mike, it was too long about I got the gist of it and it's crazy how some people just seem to be at the center of a string of different links.

Ay yo............fuk this mumbo jumbo.

You know what a great phenomenon is..........

The Currency................yes think about it, that bill you have went around the world and back, how many hands it traded, once lost and then found, could be in LA one minute, the probably in canada hours later. how many famous people had it, how many hands it exchanged, how many people where kill over it?, how many people with aids or hiv had it? how many people in somalinet actually had the same currency one point or another. sh1t the $100 bill in my wallet once belong to or stolen, robbed from Demure, qansa, niya, basar ( disgusting ) but you get my point right?

Qaarxiye,

There was a rumor back in the 80s that the $1 (I believe) had remnants of cocaine on it (because of people using it to snort coke), they ran some tests & yes indeed it was true, small remnant, but true.

I saw it on some show called "Urban legends" on TLC.
