Basra,
All this hate, because I said Heathcliff in Jane Austen's "Wuthering Heights" was a homo? Well, if the glove fits, then....

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLkoronto
When did u say Heathcliff was a homo? Which post? I missed it. Please, post the link here, i want to read it. lol I find it amusing that u mentioned Heathcliff out of the blue moon, very interesting waalaahi! lol
PS: Heathcliff is NOT a Jane Austen creation. He is an Emily Bronte creation, which i suspect u know very well, but pretend to not know-- so u can mislead me into thinking u r not ........
well fill that for your self, as for not i will just say .....mislean me into thinking u r not Heathcliff lol

Basra,
I must say you know your literature. I'd the misfortune of signing up for a literature course in my Sophmore year in college, which was taught by a narcistic South African professor who thought he invented the English language.
Did you see the movie version of 'Emma' with Gwenyth Paltrow in it, horta? I was fast asleep from the first scene in class.

Personally i dont enjoy adaptation of Jane austen novels at all. I rather be snug, in my furry luxirious blanket reading the actual book. The characters form in my head, and as i read the dialogue, i get, cosmic, catastrophic multiple orgasms, until i find myself in danger of experiencing a death harrowing migrane from these rampant, fluent violent episodes of orgasms!
Gwyneth's Emma version was certainly ok to watch, she pulled off the accent fantastically, which prompted me to forgive her for dare playing Emma Woodhouse of highbury.I particularly found Jeremy Notham who plays Mr. Knightly, Emmas love interest-- capitally sexy. His touch of feminity, empasized his gentlemanly manner and prooved, right- the pictorial sense i imagined he lwould ook like when reading the novels. Ultimately i think Emma is a ten step novel about how to be a successeful Paris Hilton, and anyone with any shred of narsissitic endevours would find it highly enjoyable. Koronto u will not enjoy it though, your kind of books-- are the tragic, painful ones where a hero-- dies of love and in the end u will deem it ---well done! Right?

I agree no Hollywood movie no matter who directs it or writes the script for it can ever trully capture the content of a fine novel.
What about Black Literature? Harlem Renaissance authors like Zora N. Hurston & Ralph Ellison of the 1920s & 30s? Not your kind of stuff, miyaa? Or even Arab Literature? Egypt has a great literary culture and great nobel prize winners like the author Naguib Mahfouz; check out his biography:

Basra,
Why run away from the enivitable? You are a black person, how many times did you get denied a job because of your skin tone? I know those Irish goons in Boston have put you through hell as a young Qaxooti girl trying to discover her roots, but its all right now that you are a grown woman.

For someone who read books, you seem to not know how to spell. I thought reading=learning how to spell. Apparently you skip the important parts and go STRAIGHT to the sex and other illict acts. (Where the details are SKETCHY).
And by the way FREE WILLY, German's wish to have my hair!

As far i am concerned i was NEVER judged by my skin color negatives. I have a fantastic --dark caramel skin tone with the beauty of Halle berry to add on it. As far as i am concerned i think my beauty has always been positively prejudiced, and it has enable me to go places where others wont go. lol More than ten times have I received news that i was hired because of my looks. Walaahi the word 'gorgeous' comes up alot lol--- i get the feedback mostly from friends who has referred and they are told by the hiring manager! lol
