Another Saudi Arabia Beheading
Saudi authorities behead citizen convicted of drug trafficking
The Associated Press Published: April 11, 2008
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia: The Saudi Interior Ministry says authorities have beheaded a Saudi man convicted of trafficking in tranquilizers.
Abdullah al-Qahtani was executed in Riyadh on Friday, said an Interior Ministry statement published by the official Saudi Press Agency.
Saudi Arabia follows a strict interpretation of Islam under which those convicted of murder, drug trafficking, rape or armed robbery are executed in public with a sword.
Fridays' executions brought to 40 the number of people beheaded this year, according to an Associated Press count. Saudi Arabia beheaded 137 people last year, up sharply from 38 executed in 2006.

Beheaded for trafficking tranquilizers? Talk about an exaggeration. The level of hypocrisy in the kingdom never ceases to amaze me.
P.S. I thought tranquilizers were for animals e.g. horses?

Can you tell me one reason that beheading and turturing the guilty is better than honor death?Shirib wrote:Beheadings are good, but not for this crime

90% of Saudis are qanis and draw their frustrations by beheading people. These FAKE Muslims, FAKE regime, and stealing of Somali oil need to pay for their crimes against civilization!

Re: Another Saudi Arabia Beheading
The beheading sends a message. It instill fear in (prospective) criminals. If you're a criminal, you know you could be apprehended, but you would think a thousand times before you commit a crime in a country you know you will be beheaded if apprehended. On the other hand, if it's a matter of a few months/years of prison with or without a fine, you're likely to commit the crime.MJ-Pride wrote:Why behead? Why not simply shot them dead.
