Why change Yourself for Someone

Post by Mtombaji »

If a somali guy gets married to other community, You will find his wife in abayah, hijab or speaking Somalia. When a somali girl gets married to other society, she is the one that is changed. You will find her Speaking his language or Dressed up in his cultural clothes. My Somalian neighbour girl is married to this Indian guy and he made her dressed up in those ugly indian Skin tight pyjamas and small jambal. As usual, she got a butt as big as a ship in Mombasa port and looks so ugly in this skin tight. everytime I see her, I am like " Get your dirac on for God's sake".

On a serious note, I am guilty of wearing dirac on some events but seriously and from the heart, I really dislike dirac.

 Well dirac is islamically not a proper attire. There is a connotation of perverse nudity on its invention. I dont approve of dirac, jeans are probably more conservative than dirac. :x

So, your basically saying that every other nationality (the women that is) has to conform to somali culture and if a somali woman does the exact thing that u want other nationalities to do...its wrong?

what hypocricy!

Like kumbali said, is better for big girls to wear dirac than squeeze into skinny jeans that make her love handles come popping out the sides.

lol@ Love handles. ^

But what of the Gaalo men who become Muslims to marry our women? Many of them wear khamiis'es and koofis, and go to the mosque much more than the girl they married's own brothers or cousins. Tho im pretty sure it aint for the Somali girls they've married, but ya still gotta give credit, wherever its due. :P Besides, Im pretty sure ur neighbors wife prolly went for a hindu guy just so she could dress like that, tho . she prolly peeped one too many hindi movies and figured she do that "Couching tiger, hidden Bullshid" thing too.

The problem is when the guy converts, she expects him to become like her (at least they way she practices Islam) but almost majority of them become very religious and start to profoundly learn in depth more about the religion; the more they learn, the more they demand her to obey the diin etc and sometimes it leads to divorce. I have seen it happen before.
