Its wholly and exclusively own by a Family. (The money transfer division)

But other businesses of Dahabshiil such as the Telecom's company called SOMTEL and other division are partnerships. For example Somtel is owned by Dahabshiil and Pro Cali Khalif Galaydh who has the majority stake.

Its you who lack business acumen. If your told its wholly and exclusively owned by a family than it is.

and yeah Galaydh ran for presidency and was the former PM. His a university professor too and businessman.
