Apparently, most people find 3 or 4.The thing is that the brain usually overlooks the "OF"s because they aren't nouns and because the letter isn't pronounced f but v. Those who are not very proficient in English all found 6 Fs (that is not to say that if you find 6 you're not proficient in English - you may just be a genius!)

LOL I read it back a few times and seemeyer is right, proficient readers only get 3. I read it now at my usual speed, and I only got 3. I missed all the of's.

I think proficient readers miss all the preposition words like "of" because our brain immediately knows its there subconsciously but wants to get to the meat of the sentence by avoiding reading them aloud in our heads.

Slower folk read everything, slowly too. I remember my black classmates in grade school would take a quarter-hour to read small book passages.
