Well-adjusted, not integrated
Integration is the first step to slavery.

Dude, here's a snapshot of British culture, from the highbrow (Aphra Behn
I love this country and want to be a part of it therefore I have the right to define myself as British, all I am saying is that if you cannot bring yourself to do the same, just leave.

Re: Do you feel integrated?
Ka Darag. Here's Philip Larkins most famous poem.
This Be The Verse
They fuck you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.
But they were fucked up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another's throats.
Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don't have any kids yourself.

Re: Do you feel integrated?
just because i dont describe myself as british doesnt mean im ungraful or im against the interets of this country.Crazy Cat Lady wrote:I'm talking about immigrants who have taken up citizenship but dont feel British.peace- wrote:Crazy Cat Lady wrote:Peace, you're quoting Mark Collett to prove a point?![]()
I never said I had a right to say who was British, I'm just saying if you dont see yourself as British, just emigrate.![]()
![]()
i dont think you know what you are talking about love
there over 1 million people in this country who are not british, most of them from the EU
there are thousand of people from the commonwealth countries in this country
are you saying they should all leave because they dont see themselves as british.
IMAGINE a refugee who has been in this country for less then 20 years, telling others to leave the country.![]()
Including ungrateful Somali's like you. Leave. Now.
the reason why dont feel british is becuase i dont buy into vague concepts. nobody cant tell me exactly what it means to be british. if you ask a scot about his nationality he or she will you they are scottish, if ask an englishman about his nationality he or she will reply im english, if ask an irishman about his nationality they will tell u that they're irish. now when you ask a black or an asian about their nationality they will say im BRITISH. it is a redundant and a meanless term designed for people like you to appreciate.
having said that im grateful to enormous opportunities and privilleges that this country has provided me with. im grateful for the citenship granted to me and this why pay my dues just like most of other citizens. im a law abiding citzens who pays his taxes and i dont work against the interest of this country.i even feel that it is my duty to defend this country if it was attacked. but that doesnt mean im gonna walk around sing god safe the queen and telling other to leave. im also not prepared to abondant my somali identity because nobody can take that away from me as it is a god given right. whereas on the other hand my british citizenship is honour that is granted to me and it cant be revoked.

I've been in the UK just about all my life but I still consider myself Muslim then somali, as far as I'm concerned my britishness is limited to my red book aka british passport.
