Abrogation means to annul or cancel something with appropriate or legal authority.

yeah there are.
For example when the ayah that revealed that people wouldv be accountable for their thoughts/whats in their heart.

The saxabahs went to the prophet (PBUH) and complained about this ayah that it was the hardest action then later Allah SWC revealed 'Amana rasulu bimaunzilah ilayhim min rabihi wal malaiku kulun amana ......ila akhiri ayah.

Abrogation is a term often non muslims point out when they try to explain the reformation in Islam, Since muslims often claim there has never or will ever be reform in Islam. A good example of abrogation In Islam is alcohol consumption and gambling. In early islam alcohol beverage was permitted but it was later abrogated by the Sunah 2:219.

Sadeboi,

I do not have any knowledge, but this is a very dangerous idealogy that many devient sects have fallen into. Some of them even fall to the point Where they say that the Prophet SAW actually forgot something. Can You believe people who are considered "Major Sheikhs" say that basically a lot of the stuff the Prophet SAW came with is basically His opinion since He is not Allah, He Has His own mind and if We see benefits, or harm in something We can basically either follow it or not follow it? This is bascially what Bidco is all about and Why it is so dangerous, because When someone engages in bidco they are with their actions saying that the Religion is not complete, and We need to add to it. The Prophet saw says "Whoever says anything in our affair (Regligion) that is not a part of it, it will be rejected" and "Whoever does anything in our affair (Religion) that is not a part of it, will be rejected". This is Why the Culema of the Salaf (first generations) alway said for the most part, there is no tawbah for a innovator, why because He thinks what He is doing is getting ajar, when in reality He is distancing Himself more and more from Allah and gaining more and more anger. Wallahi it is funny How You mention this subject, because I was listening to a muxaadaro of a well known Sheikh who was talking about these folks, and Wallahi a lot of these Guys are falling into Kuffr with these statements. Ofcourse, most of them are just ignorant and speak without knowledge. May Allah keep us safe from these people. What does Allah say about the penalites of not following the Rasuul?

Surah Qasas "And (remember) the Day (Allah) will call to them, and say: "What answer gave you to the Messengers?"
Surah Nisa

"When Allah and His Messenger have decided something it is not for any man orwoman of the believers to have a choice about it. Anyone who disobeys Allah and HisMessenger is clearly misguided.”

I'll bring all the proofs later about the people who differentiate between Allah and His Messenger and How that is kuffr.

Btw, in Surah Najam Allah says Rasuulka does not speak out of hawa (desire) Everything He says is divine relvalation, His dreams, speach, orders, commands, etc.

Also Why did Allah say Fircon is going to Hell? Because He disobeyed Musa AH, in Surah muzammil.

Basically a great introductory book for all these issues is "The Three Principles" By the Great Scholar Muhammed Ibn AbdulWahab RH.

English (Yusuf Ali): (Recite)
2:106 None of Our revelations do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, but We substitute something better or similar: Knowest thou not that Allah Hath power over all things?

there are Ayahs which are mansuukhaad (the anuled ones) like the prohibition of praying while intoxicated, but Allah explains in this ayah that they are replaced with better ones.

This is mercy form Allah it also demonstrated that allah is has power over all things i.e. he can cause ceratain knowledge to be forgotten (nunsiha) remove a knowledge from one's heart (the prophet scw) or from all (learned ppl) in one instance.

this is somewhat dangerous area as others stated! Allah is the only Manshuukh and Nunsi of the Quran, he had the power to nasakh and nunsi back in the revelation stages and when the sahabah were writting it down and ordering the surahs and ayahs, and he still has the power to nasakh and made some of it forgotten today.

walahu aclam

thats my two cents there, certainly from a layman

Ur right, so We cannot abbrogate anything the Rasuul SAW said and ofcourse the Rasuul never and couldn't abbroage anything Allah swt. The people Sadeboi are talking about basically say We can use modern realities, science, circumstances, etc. to abbrogate commands the Prophet SAW said.

How about using science for rape cases in sharia law?. If you are not familiar with sharia law, rape victims are required to present FOUR adult males witnesses inorder to press charges. Females who witnessed the crime being committed don't have a right to testify in rape cases in sharia court and there are instances where the rape victims end up being stoned to death for reporting the crime to authorities without the required four male adults witnesses.

If you analyze the law in this case, rapists have greater chances of getting away with the crime . This is where science DNA comes in to rectify issues like this.

No u don't need 4 witnesses to press charges, u just need it to use the hadd punishment. If there is no clear evidence the judge can give a different punishment that is not the hadd punishment to deter him and other rapists. This is according to many scholars
