A question for the Ladies..
If your husband referred to you as "naagteeda" instead of "xaaskeega" to his friends, family members, etc, would you be offended?

Depends on the setting & the company of course. Naagteeda seems more informal to me, than offensive. Those who have a problem with the word naag, and have a preference for dumar will automatically say xaas. Those that dont, prolly wont care.

Would you prefer "Bahasheydii"?
Re: A question for the Ladies..
Most men use..'xaajiya' when they talk about their wivs, it's more respectful.

Re: A question for the Ladies..
Oraahada "naag" waa la bah-dilay. Many negative words are associated with being female, the archives of this forum is full of males tyring to put each other down by accusing the other of being a naag. The term naag is no longer neutral or an objective term. Xaas is a better connatation. The only worse term than naag is "haween ta ii ama uu dhaxada" talk about TMI!!!
Re: A question for the Ladies..
Personally "naagteeda" seems a bit disrespectful, I don't like the word "naag" in general wa laga ficanahay kelmadaas lol
Shirib,
I'd refeer to him as "odeygeeka" misa "haijikeega"
