It is so sad to have so many candidates and no proper elections. It seems pointless to even bother asking what their credentials and agendas are.

somalia power should be shared by three (based on controlled land):

1-sland
2-pland
3-shabab

or 3.5 (galmudug)

current (s)elected officials:
we have a president who can't go to Jowhar (his birth place)
speaker of the parliament who can't visit Baydhabo (his birth place)
constituency should matter.

get rich or die trying, even through Mogadishu :)

Somalia needs a powerful and functioning Mogadishu and environs regional government. The only ticket out of the mud is Mogadishu on its feet.

I don't get that?

So even if another 20 years (God forbid) Mogadisho remain the same, Somalia will be held hostage for that place?

kurki, my approach to solving somalia's problem is to focus on Mogadishu. Forget about pseudo all inclusive national conferences and concentrate on helping (or at least not sabotaging) initiatives that have a shot on putting Mogadishu under one control. Secure Mogadishu should be a prerequisite for all future national conferences. Let ppl from Puntland, Bay, Somaliland, etc go to their localities and wait when the right time comes for a national gov init. Give reer Mogadishu a chance :)

I support the Secular Party of Somalia. SPS still has not selected a candidate, but General Morgan seems like a good pick.
