Somali people will remember Kuwait, Qatar, and UAE

Post by Voltage »

While the rest of the world either ignored or crawled in recognizing the emergency in Somalia, these three Arab gulf states should be remembered by the Somali people for how fast, swift, and generous they acted. Dubai was actually sending relief planes to Mogadishu three months ago and after the emergency Kuwait and Qatar followed suit with Kuwait immediately signing off a 100 Million without be asked by any aid agency or UN.

The Western media never puts them in the news but even today they are the only countries still sending relief planes while other Western countries send couple million to UN or other agencies and wash their hands off.

I personally think that Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE, along with the Western Powers have a hidden agenda behind this so-called "Help".

Whatever it is....may Allah save guard the innocent men, women and children of the Somali Republic. Amiin.

Where do you get that figure? I read the below Kuwaiti news which stated
KUWAIT, July 19 (KUNA) -- Two Kuwaiti planes carrying relief, medical aid and tents will head to Somalia on Thursday to assist millions of starving drought victims in the African country.

The initiative comes after Kuwait agreed USD 10 million in relief aid for Somalia, whose people are suffering from famine and malnutrition as a result of the most severe drought to have hit the country in ten years.

The Arab League has been promising to help Somalia for years, and if they opened their wallets now well, thank you is enough however they won't be remembered like we'll remember our Ugandese and Burundian brothers.

‘Help Somalia solve its worst famine tragedy’ Amir praised for $100 mln aid

KUWAIT CITY, July 21: Somalia, which is located in the Horn of Africa, has been experiencing the worst famine over the last two decades, says Arab Parliament Chairman MP Ali Al-Deqbasi.

In a press statement Thursday, Al-Deqbasi described the current situation in the country as tragic, saying it is the most terrible human disaster in recent history. He praised HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah for donating $100 million to Somalia and for his directive to Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) to prepare two airplanes to transport relief goods and medicines to help the people in that country.

Thanks for providing the source.

This is really helpful coming from the UAE, their help will never be forgotten. I hope the other Arab monarchies follow suit and aid our suffering people.
