Not at all, ONLF are not the strongest opposition force in Ethiopia, the only thing they do is regroup in the grazed land, they attack a base, they get beaten and then they blame eachother for the loss, one thinking they got snitched on the other thinking the same, they lose trust, they make up again, regroup and the process continues. Its the 21st century, everything can be sorted out politically. Who is gonna notice a insignificant rebel group? If the rebel group cannot establish itself properly then it must be terminated or changed. Why can't ONLF become more diverse, more political and less of the corruption. They don't even have good HOOGAAN (leader). They are nothing but over-exaggerated by their clansmen. You don't seem to know much about recent history of Soomaali Galbeed. When regime of Mengistu fell and Tigre took over they seemed to be very open for the idea of the right of secession for different ethnic groups and this was also written in new Ethiopian constitution. Somalis decided to go along with this and entered politics to realize their independence. ONLF won local elections in 1992 by more than 80% and their aim was to move Soomaali Galbeed towards secession. In 1994 ONLF government called for referendum on independence for SG that's permitted in Ethiopian constitution. Central government of Ethiopia responded by dissolving Somali regional government and replacing it with new puppet government. From there problems escalated and before you know ONLF is back in bushes and Xabashi soldiers roam SG killing and raping civilians in masses.

When Mengistu fell and country was in chaos Somalis should have taken up weapons and try to get independence by power, but unfortunately they trusted the lies of new masters of Ethiopia and played with their rules and when they realized their mistake it was already too late and Tigre had consolidated their power and were ready to suppress possible uprising. Another problem was fall of Somalia's government at the same time and absence of any major backer from that direction (only possible direction for support). Soomaali Galbeed is also very unsuitable for guerrilla warfare, because it's basically open and flat terrain with not many places to hide. Despite of these difficulties ONLF is maybe most efficient group fighting in Ethiopia, even though it's not powerful enough to cause serious damage at this moment.

Eritreans got their independence because they took it by guns and drove Derg army out from their country. New Ethiopian central government had no other choice than to grant the independence, because they didn't have any power on ground anyway and minimal possibilities to take Eritrea back. Eritrea and South Sudan won independence by fighting and to believe that secession from Ethiopia could be achieved bloodlessly is just naive. At this moment biggest problem for the people of Soomaali galbeed in this regard is the lack of unity. Insha Allah if they get their lines together they can achieve their dreams.

No, you misunderstood me. I said, I support a coalition between all Somalis, forming the Original WSLF (Western Somalia Liberation Front), and the region being given the rightful name it truly deserves, which is "Western Somalia" or "Somali Galbeed".

Having one clan, create a Movement and then call the entire region Ogadenia, which is settled by various clans is completely ridiculous.

You know it and I know it, that the ONLF will not bring "Freedom" to Somali Galbeed, and hypothetically speaking, if..and ONLY if they do, and SOMALI GALBEED gets it's FREEDOM, then a major CIVIL WAR will break out between the different clans in SOMALI GALBEED, since the ONLF will most likely bring forth the "Ownership" of "Ogadenia"....and their argument would be that "They have shed blood for it".

How could other tribes fight alongside the ONLF, and die in the name of another clan? It takes the slightest brain cells to fully comprehend this, dude. The ONLF are fighting for a "NATION" called "Ogadenia" and last time I checked, "Ogaden" was the name of one of the tribes of the Somalis who settle in Somali Galbeed.

Now, if you're saying, let the boys of the other tribes in Somalia, may it be Isaaq, Daarood or Hawiye die in the name of OGADEN and then...when it's "Liberated", it becomes a "Country" called "Ogadenia", then that...my friend is something far into the depth of impossibility.

Few individuals from different tribes, supporting Ethiopia doesn't mean that the entire tribes support Ethiopia.

In fact, the Ogaden had the largest envoy who has taken part of the Peace Agreement with the Ethiopian Government lately and yet, here you are...crying out loud in the name of "Ogaden".

I'm being REALISTIC. Change the the ludicrous name of the Movement, let all Somalis join in and bring back what Jalle Siyaad created in the 70s, which was WSLF...Western Somalia Liberation Front.

In the name of WSLF, can that region be given it's FREEDOM and joined back into SOMALIA.
