I am curious about learning the dialect, but I don't come into contact much with Maay speakers (Shirib really doesn't speak it). I am wondering if there is someone on here who could provide me a little help?

Me and friend of mine are working on a qaamuus for af maymay, for those who are interested in learning it.

My mother can speak af maay. She used to go to her aunt in Buurhakaba as a little kid with her family during school breaks.

Af maay is a very elegant sounding language.

Both my parents were raised in Jowhar iyo Xamaar and spent majority of their lifes there.. They hardly spent time in Waqooyi.
Plus all my older siblings were born in Jowhar.

Ps. I'm not from Burco!

I don't speak the language fluently but my mother can and does have conversations in Maay with some of her friends, I know from what i learned from my mother.
