There was this story about when the British tried to ban Khat in Britian in the early to mid 80s. The majority of the residents were Northerners(mainly Isaaq) who took up drinking alcohol as an alternative, sparking fights in pubs, after many complaints from pub owners about the Sabaaxad, hirdi, luuto, suxul, jilibs the Somalis exhibited after drinking "Talaabo Cadde"(Johnny Walker, Jin) the ban was lifted shortly thereafter.
