Hair

Post by witheredfleur »

Girls, what colour is your hair atm, how long is it and how do you normally style it and shidh?

Last week a Somali friend of mine went a bit insane and hit the hairdressers. She returned with an explosion of blonde curls like the girl in my avatar  when she straightened it, she had elbow length blonde hair. It was crazy

I cut mine so it was just past my ears, dyed it red and then let it grow out. Now it's reached the bottom of my neck and looks really cool cause it fades from black to red

It is black, with some few ends that are reddish/brownish. At the moment I'm mid-back and maybe waist if I straighten, but my hair generally shrinks, so doesn't look really long.

I have no styling ways and I've actually been very lazy in looking after it lately. Will go back to looking after it iA, cause I want it to reach waist-length in its natural state, from there on I'll probably stick with blow-drying only.

I like short hair and I think it suits me, I also love red hair! I don't want to colour my hair though, it can be harsh. I would look into natural ways to colour it though (strong henna, something like that).

My hair is a myth, its another problem in my life. I used to straighten it nearly on a daily basis before I was a Hijabi so you can only imagine how damaged it is (and I never used heat protector) didn't even know it exist. Anywhooo I started treating it and stuff it has gone a LOTTT better. My friend is a hair dresser I went to her to get my monthly treatments and I told her to dye my hair jet black because it had faded chesnut colour at the tip coz I died it before and She has always been encouraging me to get blonde highlights or blonde hair coz it apparently suits me, All I know is I look in the mirror and my hair was blonde :( I dyed it purple coz I wanted it darker but the blond areas came out lighter than the rest so I did it jet black, dyed my hair 3 times in a month. Now I'm back to my weekly treatments coz its kind of damaged and cut it from nearly near my waist lenght to just below my ear lenghth but its growing rather fast  Hate long hair its so hard to manage.

Btw did u know ur hair speaks against you in the day of judgement if you don't take care of it, thats why I cut my hair shorter its easier to manage and take care of :(

Try it. I think everyone should experience having at least a yellow hair once in their lifetime.

Pitch black.. It's waist length in its natural state atm.. Dunno how long it is when its straightened, I'm guessing hip-length.. I hate straight hair
How do I style it? It's always in a high messy bun.. :| But lately it's been real heavy.. I think it's because of Ramadan *the lack of cuunto/water*.. :?

BlackVelvet wrote:To colour or not to colour, that is the question
It depends on the health of your hair..
The first and only time I coloured my hair *unnaturally* was when I was 18.. to light brown and it messed up my hair.. Almost shaved it all off..
Don't think its worth it ruunti.. Black hair FTW!

My hair colour at the moment is jet black and it's to my back. However, two months ago (just before Ramadan) it was dark red. I don't know why but I dyed my hair black just before Ramadan because I felt like it was the right thing to do (don't ask me why  ). I loved that colour though. I loved it so much that I''m going to go back to it in a couple of weeks. I just have to go to the salon to strip the black hair dye off my hair (I'm dreading this :| I normally style my hair by parting it from one side. Think old hollywood hair styles/ Megan Fox or like how Katy's hair is parted in my avatar.

My natural hair colour, which is a dark brown..that I hate  I only dyed it once, about 3 years back, and it was jet black. Straightened it's half way down my back, and naturally it's past the shoulders.

Oh my..never color your hair for the next few years and let your hair grow out so all the damage is gone.

As for the topic. My hair is black and well below my waist. I have it layered but hair being so long its soo balaaah  For as long as I can remember I have been getting it deep conditioned monthly using argon oil treatment. I dont really ever color my hair but I have been contemplating whether I should color or not...I'm very nervous of getting my hair damaged. May be I'll pray istikhara  I typically like to style it curly because I like the volume and shine that appears more on my hair when its curly.

Yeah I don't think I'm ever going to dye my hair EVERR again at least not for the next couple of years.
I'm happy with my black hair for now

If your going to dye your hair sis make sure you go to a salon and get it treated after it's dyed. It
gives back all the moisture that the chemicals in the dye took away. Don't risk doing it yourself
And don't use high street dying products like "Nice and Easy" use the salon ones they have less chemicals
and last longer.
