Are you crazy? I was in Gaalkacayo just a few months ago 140k is a good and decent estimation. Hargeysa was estimated 700k and Xamar 900k a few years ago no way Gaalkacayo is nearly 1/2 of Hargeysa and 1/3 of Xamar.
Your estimation is way off. Xamar is much more populated then Hargeisa let alone the tiny dusty village Galkacayo. Also, the thinking that Hargeisa is only twice bigger than Galkacayo is absurd too. The number closer to reality is like this Muqdisho 1.6 million, Hargeisa 800k, Galkacayo 150k.
Camu this from 2005 let's say Hargeysa was eight years ago around the 700k - 800k. Hargeysa saw it's biggest growth around 2007 - 2009. I think it's safe to say Hargeysa reached or passed the million mark today, easily.

Btw are you crazy I never said Gaalkacyo is 1/2 of Hargeysa.
uh...that goes for every city, the pop just keeps on increasing, especially in Mudug, with the arrival of migrants from the more southernly areas of Somalia seeking work and a safer place to live. :mindblown:

Not only are you a liar, but a doqon as well.
"So you are basically claiming Gaalkacayo is nearly 1/2 of Hargeysa"...please tell me, where I've mentioned hargeisa in my posts. :mindblown:
"Btw are you crazy I never said Gaalkacyo is 1/2 of Hargeysa."

Ha is ceybeen brah.

Sxb I responded to samatar133.

Although if your claim is that Gaalkacayo is 300k+ just like FariyoAlif claimed that basically means according to the UNDP statistics that Gaalkacayo is nearly 1/2 of Hargeysa which is utter nonsense.

Where did I claim he mentioned Hargeysa? I mentioned Hargeysa as an example to prove that his estimates are way off. Are you blind, deluded or just mentally disabled?

New estimates from the United Nations peg Samut Prakan as the population center expected to grow the most between 2010 and 2015, its population anticipated to surge 9%. The Thai province located south of Bangkok is known for its fishing and boasts that it has the world’s largest crocodile farm.

Close behind are the booming metropolises of Can Tho (Vietnam), Mogadishu (Somalia), Yamoussoukro (Ivory Coast), Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) and Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso.)

Yes, Xamar in 2005 was 900,000. Heavy fighting was occurring. But everyone has come back since then. Xamar is a big city. It has around 2 million people without the IDP's.

Hassan said the population in Mogadishu may be close to 3 million people, twice the estimate from July 2011.
