Rest in Peace to the american dream for most people, i.e. the ones who end up not getting degrees because of the costs. But for the rest of us with actual technical degrees, computer science, engineering, accounting, etc it means big bucks.
I was just reading reports on the fact that the gap between the highest paid members of a trade compared to the lowest paid members has also increased. Everywhere you look the better off are getting better off, and the not better off are getting poorer.

isnt there an oversupply of graduates?
do you know countries with a strong industrial economy do not place too much emphasis on degrees.
for them apprenticeships and trade diplomas mean more.
Surprisingly Switzerland still has strong manufacturing base, along with Austria and Germany.
Germany doesnt have any fancy universities in the league of Oxford/Cambridge , Harvard and Sornbonne
but produces more skilled workers than allot of countries.
Japan and Taiwan are another example.

There is an oversupply for graduates of useless degrees like political science, arts, english, humanities, sociology, but there is a desperate short supply of technical degrees. The short supply of technical degrees coupled with a high demand for engineers, programmers, etc, means they are making bank.gurey25 wrote:isnt there an oversupply of graduates?

School sent me a check of a few hundred dollars for my first year. I didnt owe them but they owed me. The beauty of living in a welfare statebariis567 wrote:My first year tuition costed $800 and that was without looking for external scholarships.
