Unity through seccesion

Post by GenkinMaru »

It is clear that the Republic of Somalia as we knew it is dead. This supposed Federalism also leads to a dead end. So what is the solution? Well first of all the South should forget this nonsense of making States out of non-divisible lands. South Somalia should hold Presidential and Parliament elections through the one man one vote public system, just like Somaliland. They will govern it as an independent Nation. Next stop is to recognize Somaliland, refusing to do so is just not living in reality and present.

From here the two nations can decide if they want to form some sort of a cooperation similar to the European Union. Both nations govern themselves, however they can setup a council with a chairman, which is rotated between the countries. This council can be used to tackle issues such as maybe a single currency, freedom of movement etc.

Furthermore, it leaves the door open to other Somali nations to join, such as Djibouti, Ogaden. And for those dead-set on a Federal system, this form of union can be called the Somali Federation.

What do you think?

get it through your delusional head, a minority clan WILL NEVER LEAVE SOMALIA, sooner or later, willingly or forcefully the minority clan named as isaaqomaliland will be confined to their perspective regions, thus putting a stop to their oppressing ways on the minority clan neighbors.

You know before this whole Federalism nightmare, the main concern for Somalia (after security of course) was how to get Somaliland back into fold. However now the concerns have become how to bring Puntland, Jubbaland, Udubland and whateverland back to govern from muqdisho. While being so single minded about Somaliland, they have devised this Federalism bull, resulting in the breakaway of the only unity Somalia had in the first place.

If recognizing that Somaliland has separated from Somalia for the last 20 years, with their own government, military and political elections without a sing input from so called federal Government is being delusional, then I guess I am.

I can see why Federlasim is desired by the likes of you though. You off course were hoping that Somaliland would be disintegrated into mini clan states, only this happened in Somalia.

GenkinMaru,

Tell your countrymen the truth son but let me just correct you. Somaliland is not seceding, we're separating from an entity we united with in 1960 in order to create the Somali republic.
