thanks for posting. That's exactly what I said in many posts. Show me any where in Quran that says kill anyone who insults the prophet. But here is---something to be said about this idiot radicals who went on a killing rampage in the name of the prophet pbuh: Their passion. Deep passions count for something yaqqee . Through out the Quran, there are numerous stories where jealousy for the love of Allaah swt is so powerful that it causes humans and angels to do things unreasonable. The prime example is the former angel Ibliis. He was cast out of heaven because he was jealous of God's love on his latest new creation: Adam/Adan. But WHAT does God do to punish Ibliis for refusing his command to bow down to Gods new creation? He is cast to earth and made to wander for eternity until yomul qiyama of course . (I think God's love is evident here, I give u time to repent even if for eternity)

The basic story in the brother killing is --Cain, the older brother felt jealous of his brother for being liked or loved more by God.
