Somalis need to learn this
The level workmanship in this video is just something to behold. I really admire the craftspeople of north Africa, their long established traditions of handcrafts and mosaics give their cities such a distinctive visual appeal. Something we are severely lacking in Somali towns and cities.

Re: Somalis need to learn this
Any sort of manual work is anathema to Somalis due to the nomadic ethos that permeates our culture. This aversion to working with ones hands has its roots in conceptions of nobility among the nomads, with only the 'ignoble' groups engaging in skilled craftsmanship or farming. But with Somalis now largely urbanized, this once status-marking disposition has devolved into laziness. For Somalis from 'noble' clans it's entreprenuership/white collar work or bust.

Re: Somalis need to learn this
Somalis are lazy and unproductive in any society. They are uncreative and see such work as unnecessary because they can't be bothered. In fact ethnic somalis don't even build anything back home.

North Africans are a very old civilisation. They've been honing these skills for centuries and craftsman have always been respected there. They could make those tiles in a more efficient and cheaper way but they stick to tradition.
Somalis don't like work.

Indeed. So much work and fine detail put into their architecture. It's a sight to behold.
Somebody has to kickstart off something in Somalia, like a user posted above Somalis are good at monkey see monkey do. They only compete with one another not the rest of the world.

Somebody is going to have to break the trend though. Do something the other cant copy.

hawiye are the hardest working somalis I have ever seen
daarood practises nepotism, fraud and all kinds of jewish practises.
go to east africa and you will see daarood jewish nature, Eastleigh is their wallstreet
they are insular and very secretive and strategic in their business and wealth management.
among the daarood there is no such thing as working your way up.
a daarood highest ideal is a roman empror persona and the daarood religious and business people strive too lead and command. business and wealth among the daaroods are means to rule.
hardley would you see daarood leaders in highest posistion being acussed of curuption and theaft, what they are accused of is human rights violations dictatorship and undemocratic practises
in the daarod lexicon, manual labour equals to ignobility and unambiguousness and lack of freedom," ana ii talineysa ana daarood ismaciil ah, iin a dhinto ba lay ii qata"
daroods would be great bankers, politcians and they are the cloak that american republicans and oligarchs are made out of.
isaaq would be great in logistics, xawalad iyo qaad on time so daca bay ku fican yahin, they are somali amazom
raxanwayn would make great citisen in daarood kingdom, very humble and not revolutionary, dadkaas ba shacab la daha.
