dhusso-
You're wrong about 'many' great scientist being religious. What you have to understand is that although many scientists believed in God or some religion, they weren't dogmatic. They were pragmatice and free thinkers. Their religious believes didn't interfere with their work. And those that did believed in God, their God was likely Spinoza's God or the God of Pantheism. Einstien was Pantheist!
ok u praise these scientists for bieng pragmatic and claim that religion is dogmatic. u are a WALKING CONTRADICTION abti.... i mean come on.... who is more dgmatic than U. i have seen u bad mouth religon soooo many times, it seems to be the only thing u do. u shove u'r anti-religious feelings down ppl's throwts every chance u get.
maybe u don't share this admirable quality that the u'r heroes seem to have

OK so all great scientists were great pragmatic pantheists... thats a sweeping generalisation. didn't they teach u about the dangers of generalising in all those philosophy classes u took
What 'big' questions has science NOT answered
so science has answers to questions like what is the size of the universe?......what is the purpose of life?..... what is the meaning of life........why is it that the earth is the exact right distance from the sun, which enables it to produce the right atmosphere to support life.
please tell me u have the ansewrs to the questions..... cos i couldn't find the answers in the last issue of since i couldn't find them in the last issue of science weekly

What contradiction? I'm not dogmatic at ALL cause the moment there is evidence showing my believes to be wrong, I'll accept what the evidence shows is right. You as a muslim must always believe what Allah said even if there is evidence pointing to the contrary, if not then you're not a muslim.
I don't bad mouth your religion...that is just your perception of my actions. I give my honest opinions of articles posted here in general section. The reason they are posted is to show that Islam is the true religion to muslims AND nonmuslims like me. You would like me to read them, right? So I do but often I disagree with what those posts say and say so. If you don't like what I have to say in reply to those posts, then don't read them or get articles that I'll have no choice but to agree with.

Not all scientist, not even most. The point is that most scientists where not theists!
so science has answers to questions like what is the size of the universe?
Not yet...remember science is tentative.
what is the purpose of life?
Whatever you like it to be.
what is the meaning of life
Whatever you want it to be.
why is it that the earth is the exact right distance from the sun,
Product of the invariant natural laws.

don't expect science to answer you questions like 'purpose of life' cuz that is meaningless question. To ask such question assumes that life was CREATED for a purpose but since life came about through Evolution, it doesnt have a purpose other intrinsic individual defined one.
